Why woman removed her father name and use her husband name as a second name after marriage?

It's similar to once property got sold so owner change... owner name change. It's a serious question. Why woman has to change her second name after marriage? What's the reason?

A baby is named by their parents... so they know which name to respond to when called.. She can keep her father's name though... Make it double barrel... or just keep it... husbands keep wives names in some countries... they can... but for religious reasons keep men's names...

A family... the woman starts a family... mom and dad have the Same name as the children.

It sounds brutal and a bit funny when you word it like that, but it's low-key true. But the times are changing, I think a lot of women leave their surname after getting married (or take both their husband's and father's name), and also a lot of men don't insist on it anymore. Furthermore, I think a lot of couples don't even plan to marry today 🤷🏻‍♀️

Funnily, I was just studying something for Uni before I saw your question and there was the part about families in the past and fathers having power over their daughters and transferring that power to a man she marries 🥴
