I’m marrying someone that has a different culture than mine, or his family rather, him and me are very similar. His mother wants a women’s only wedding according to their culture, I obviously don’t want that. I want a small, simple and gender mixed wedding. His parents are the one’s paying for the wedding, also according to culture.
The only solution we’ve come to is to have two weddings, one according to their culture that they pay for and one according to my culture that my parents and me will pay for.
But what annoys me is that we already had a engagement party according to their culture where they invited all of their people to that my dad payed big sums for. So I think it’s unfair that we now have to also pay for the wedding we want, they should at least pitch in.
