My husband insisted on taking in his mother's dog last year that has a bucket load of medical issues, because his mom could no longer afford the animal. I said I didn't want the dog but he went above me. This dog cannot be fixed because of her health AND she goes in to heat every other month. It seems like she is constantly bleeding.
I have tried those doggy diapers, but she shreds them in a matter of seconds. I had even put a cone on her at one point so she wouldn't shred the diaper and the noises coming from this animal were so severe that our neighbors called animal control. She has destroyed multiple pieces of my antique furniture that I inherited in my grandmother's passing. She has bleed on so many of my work clothes, my bed and my carpet is now fucked. I have asked the vet for suggestions and nothing they have told me has been useful.
So the dog went in to heat again 2 days ago and she is bleeding all over the place. I placed her in the kitchen with the linoleum and put up gates so she couldn't get to the carpet but when I returned home I found that my husband had unlatched the gates and let her roam throughout the house. I got home to blood everywhere, including on my son's brand new backpack and shoes that were sitting in the entryway for his first day of Kindergarten tomorrow. He hadn't even bothered to clean up after her.
So I gave an ultimatum. Either he crates her, keeps her in the kitchen or he can fucking leave with the dog because I'm tired of all my shit being destroyed by her bleeding. He called me insensitive and stated that I was inflicting anxiety by keeping her penned up when she has done nothing wrong and ultimately decided to leave. He called last night and asked if he could come home and I said no. Either he stays gone or he figures out what to do with the dog before coming back here because I'm done. I have received so many texts from the family calling me a fucking cunt. Am I wrong?
