waiting a year is not gonna happen for most men. They will definitely move on. I don't think you necessarily need to date long before marriage. Maybe 3 to 4 months of seeing each other daily could be enough.

Why not if he can see the bigger picture? I think I’m wife material
Like most, you’re only going to realize you wasted valuable years waiting for something insignificant and very disappointing.

I mean my mom and I both lose our virginities and became engaged to men who were waiting. We did both also start being abstinent before ever intending to date these men either though. if he wasn’t living an abstinent lifestyle before meeting you or dating, I’m not sure it’s a good idea to be dating and rushing. In my case and my moms, we both became engaged in a few months of dating. Greatest relationships we’ve ever had. But he’s gotta be committed as well.
Studies say 4 years, that's how long is recommended to read out a person for marriage, normally if it lasts four years and y'all are still healthy, then it's a good couple for marriage
I decided I didn't like one night stands. It was a very brief thing in college and wish I never did it. I need a relationship first. Felt worse than I expected.
Out of looking for a partner for fifteen years ( I had a couple of one night stands with friends of a friend but don't really consider that as part of it), I only had four dates in that time. Only one was actually legitimate, while the other three used me for food while actually having a boyfriend. She reminded me too much of my mom - irresponsible and in my opinion not a good candidate for marriage. Another person had accepted my proposal for a date but the day before she decided to reveal that she had a boyfriend that she didn't talk to in a month, so I decided with that information to cancel. Had the opportunity for an LDR with someone from this site, but I was still in the mindset that the person on the other end could just be a liar and screwed up what could have been something great. So, yeah, two people legitimately interested in me and I sabotaged it. I should have either went on that second date or accepted the long distance relationship that could have blossomed to us living together. Eventually, the amount of rejection I had was too much in my opinion to bother going forward, so I gave up. I could have went years or decades looking and still came up empty. I'm rather ugly, so I probably in hindsight should have taken up the offer that was presented to me.
Im just surprised by how many guys here have come out and said that they’ve dated girls who hid their boyfriends. That’s actually crazy. Damn. Im sorry you guys are running into crappy people like that!
I don't know about the "no sex" or "marriage" part, but probably wait longer than I did before getting engaged (only a few months for me). Maybe I wouldn't be divorced. 😂
its different for everyone. there's no one size fits all. just when you both 'feel' ready. Although its strongly advised not to do it too fast like within the first year of your relationship lol.

I enjoy sexual intimacy. The right person, I want to know if we are compatible before marriage.
I think we waited 18 months. I knew we were going to get married after about a month.
Wow so it’s true that men just know
ally- we met on Memorial Day and I didn't think I would see her again but I did on the 4th of July. After that weekend I was pretty much a goner.
Aw that’s so cute
My last relationship lasted 7 years and failed.

I would feel like you weren't someone I wanted to date. I don't understand your reason for waiting.
If met the love of my life, fell head over heels in love, I would have no problem waiting until marriage to have sex.
I haven't had sex in ten years, what's three or four more?
Damn really how come?

I see. And you haven’t been in a relationship?
That's right. I tried for years and failed enough where I decided it was a fool's errand.
Why did it fail?

I love this I think it’s special and would be a dream to meet a woman like you
Aw thanks!!
I’m not sure if I could last long without fucking
Thank you for the Like
No problem
Personally I wouldn't be dating anyone with these values to start with.
At least 2 years where some of that time you live with them. You really get to know a person when you live with them. Even just 6 months
You should pay your own way for dates every time then and not use him.
I personally couldn't be with someone like this. But props for you, for being able to do this. 🥰
It’s good to know the person for at least a year. If you’ve known each other for a while, you could even push it to 6 months.
My wife and I were married 2 years and 1 week to the day of our first date.
We had sex on the first date.

Sorry, that whole concept is out of my wheelhouse. LOL
