Would it be weird for me to wear my mothers engagement ring from her relationship with my father?

My mum recently gave me a big box of keepsakes and other sentimental items, and among them included her engagement ring from over 20 years ago, from when she got engaged to my dad. They didn’t marry, they broke up when I was young. It’s a really lovely ring, and it fits my fingers perfectly, I’m wondering if it would be weird if I wore it as just a casual daily ring? My dad didn’t buy it for her, my mother was the one to propose and she bought her own ring. So would it be weird since it’s an engagement ring or is it not weird since my mother bought it for herself? If I wore it, I obviously would not wear it on my wedding finger.

I don't think it's weird, I wear my great grandmother engagement ring everyday personally and I very much like it, it make my grandfather happy to see I wear it.

I actually knew somebody that did this. I had not seen her for 2 or 3 years, but I ran into her and I noticed the ring and I congratulated her for getting engaged she just laughed and told me it was to keep guys from hitting on her.

If your mom bought it then it makes it less weird but I'd say if you can sell it and buy yourself another ring it would make it even less weird than less weird... if that makes sense
