How should we do the local church wedding if we’re doing a destination wedding afterwards?

Me and my fiance want to do a destination wedding. But the destination wedding rules is that we have to officially sign our marriage certificate here before we actually go and do the wedding there. We’re also Christian so we do want to do a church wedding here because of the church aspect.

A lot of my guests can’t come to the destination so it’ll just be close people going to the destination wedding, so we wanted to do a small church wedding locally and then the wedding in destination where we’ll be dancing there and celebrating it. Locally when we do the church wedding, I’m not sure what we should do afterwards. Like should we still celebrate here and dance and stuff or should we do a small thing where we play some games and eat some food?

Normally for the traditional weddings, people give money as gifts and stuff, and I don’t want our guests to be like “what is this? We came and it’s not even a real wedding” but at the same time, we want to prioritize the destination wedding as the big wedding.

I thought of choosing this material because the wedding is going to be in Mexico. So it’s going to be very hot there. The material is very light and breathable. The lighting there wasn’t good but under good lighting, the dress looked more shiny and white. This is the link to how the dress looks by the designer website: www.justinalexander.com/.../
