I got married recently, how do I do family and financial planning?

the first thing is to create a household budget and stick to it.
Make sure you have at least 3 months rent/house payments in the bank just in case.
Leasing a car is the dumbest thing a person can do.
It seems like a good idea, but you are overpaying for something that is not yours and never will be, and the built in interest is way too high.
Think about why dealerships came up with this in the first place, to lose money?
Get your bills under control, depending on how many credit cards you have dump all but 1 or 2 of them, and pay them off in full each month.
Never spend more in a month than you can afford to pay off.
The interest rates they charge are obscene, and you will find it all but impossible to pay off a balance just paying the minimum amount. That $100. item you bought will cost you at least $150 or more by the time you get it paid off.
Find a good financial planner, because your age is not listed and you provided no information, we don't know your age, do you have kids, planning to have kids or anything like that.
You need to start saving for your retirement, if you ever want to retire, sending kids to college is so expensive and many find that their degree is pretty much worthless to get a decent job.
Tech schools are way better, granted you actually have to work, but you have no college debt, you get paid while you learn, and many companies will pay for your schooling.
Many trades will pay 6 figures a year.
If you aren't making ends meet, it's time to get a second job, 2 or 3 days a week.
What could you do with an extra 12 grand a year?

It starts with talking with your spouse and answering a lot of questions. What are your goals as a couple? What have you already discussed as a couple before you got married? How many kids do plan on having? Which hospital do you plan on them at? Cost after insurance? Whose insurance plan to use? What lifestyle do you intend to have; double income, single income, homeschooling, public schooling, etc? Are there any debts that either of you have? Are there any debts you’ll need to take on?
Do you establish a college fund or encourage the kids to go to trade school? If you establish a college fund, but neither kid goes to college, do you still give them the money or use it for something else? Do you buy your kids cars for their 16th birthdays or do you encourage them to have the work ethic to buy their own?
What do you both want to do when you’re retired?

Honestly, should have been figured out before you got married. These are pretty important things to not have nailed down before getting married.
