I'm single, got divorced a few years ago, and trying to understand myself better. I did one of those natal chart readings. I'm learning about myself and soul purpose. I found out my north node is in Libra and it's in the 4th house. The explanation I've gotten is that my soul wants me to start a family. I'm 47. My childhood was traumatic, my mother was mentally ill. I've had no desire at all to ever have kids. Now that I'm learning this about myself, I feel like it's something I should do to avoid karma. How do you start a family at 47 without having kids? Should I be looking for a partner who does have kids? I'm trying to understand this north node stuff a little better.

Just because you read or were told some silly shit doesn't mean you have to start a family. The question is are you responsible enough, loving and caring enough, and patient enough to be a parent? Is being a parent right for you? It isn't for everybody. You said you've never wanted kids, why do you want them now? Just because somebody says you should? That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. If you've never picked up and held a friend's baby or child and thought "I should have a little rugrat in my life" then you should not raise kids.
