Is there any real value in premarital counseling?

I know a friend of a friend who refuses to do premarital counseling or even speak to her pastor before getting married. Shes actually scared that she will be talked out of it... and just wants to plow straight ahead. I believe it would be helpful and wont hurt anything. To me, marriage is one of lifes biggest decisions. Having objective, professional input is worth it.
