Men, what are you guys’ opinions on girls these days that actually desire to be homemakers/SAHM?

I truly desire to be a wife and build a family with whoever will be my future husband. It’s something I’ve been praying about for a few months now & praying for him has been one of my fav things. It’s not something I thought I’d wanted (I used to be a radical feminist & very much against this) until now and I’m very happy about it.

It scares me to talk about this with people around me because it’s not appreciated much these days especially by women. Most of them are very vocal about it; they don’t think it’s a good future for a woman, blah blah… But I’m more curious on the opinion of men (maybe even some advice if you’re a provider in your home) about some (rare) women in modern society that desire to be homemakers/stay at home moms like myself.

I’m all for it. At the end of the day a relationship is a team effort.




With that being said IF the woman wants to be a stay at home mom. It would really be helpful and beneficial if she knows how to cook food for the whole family.




Also, something to consider. Coming together to plan the budget would be required. Because if the man cannot provide a lifestyle they wish for them and the children then she might have to help out somehow.




For instance I have a friend that his wife is a stay at home mom but she runs a tiny business of baking cakes upon request. She doesn’t make much doing it but she makes enough money to the point where they live comfortably.

You'd have to be with someone who makes tons of money. It's not all that feasible in today's world where its difficult to even afford the mortgage or rent on two incomes even much less one. Money is my only concern, otherwise if thats what you want and your partner is cool with it then so be it.

But yeah make sure you can actually do it money wise.

Yeah that’s what keeps me overthinking. I’m a homebaker and have experience selling. So I can use that to help as well.

It depends on the woman honestly, I will also say that everyone is searching for something different. So someone not looking for the same thing as you are doesn’t make that individual bad it means you aren’t compatible.

Unfortunately stay at home moms get a bad reputation because of narcissistic women who have this belief that it’s going to be a free ride until she sees what work it takes to be a mom. She can’t just go blow all her husbands money, sit by the pool, and louse around all the time. They become very angry and bitter, many cheat, and many divorce claiming they feel tied down.

Any real relationship is built on love and a genuine connection. Not purely transactional but I will say that a transactional relationship is better then a one sided one. Where one person thinks they are a queen/king and the other one must wipe their butt while getting little to none in return.

If a man makes enough money for you and your kids to be able to stay home. You have to be the kind of person who if something happens to your husband and he’s not able to work like he used to that you would still love and be there for him. Not divorce and run off… Like narcissists do.

As for women telling other women what to do (or men for that matter) some maybe are well meaning. But at the end of the day many people need to focus on their own lives and understand that everyone is different. It’s not to say a woman cannot join the workforce later in life if she so desires.

At the same time people will judge you no matter what you do. That’s a fact of life if you married a man who barely has any money and you’re the breadwinner. People will say stuff about that as well. At the end of the day most marriages fail because they aren’t built on love or a genuine connection.

People marry for sex, the sake of being married, social status, money, just go have kids, and the list goes on. Then when it fails

I think the way other men think, men have a big heart. I have no problem and I don't judge women on that alone.
I do judge some homemaker women I saw in my life who verbally abuse their husbands and suck the blood of their children regarding studies because she is empty and has nowhere to spend her energy, so she cause chaos in the house. (my neighbour's story who is a policeman and his wife over egoistic and arrogant).

If I have enough money, I am ready to take care of a homemaker woman. this maturity developed in me when I stopped taking men-hating feminists seriously.
Or I will tell my partner that if you don't want to work, then don't, I will manage if I have enough.
But I know that if a woman says just this much, related to women's empowerment, like instead of saying men and women are good in their own regards if she says women can do everything a man does, I mean if she compares men and women too much, then I will not consider her right for me. Have you seen any man who is talking about male empowerment? It means she is showing symptoms of feminism. And I like realistic women in these matters.

I don't hate feminists, but their aim is to make normal men second-class citizens. There are very few women who actually talk about equality.

I agree with your point. I liked the idea of being a homemaker even during my feminist phase. But I was always terrified of saying it, because they are very pro-women ONLY to those in their circle. Any woman with a different opinion has internalized misogyny, she’s this, she’s that… It became mentally exhausting. You’re angry at the world all the time as well.

Men and women have their differences and that’s perfectly fine because together they create a balance in society, at home, in relationships…

I think that it's the natural state of things, it's what works practically.

You both need to be having open honest communications etc and a loving relationship.

As a man thats the dream, provide for you family, have a loving partner who you come home to, smell of home cooked food and the kids running to the door chanting and praising daddy's mighty return lol... It's what it's all about as a man, well it's part of the journey, dosent last forever, but nothing dose.

However I think you will have problems finding a man to do that with, there's nothing more repulsive than a man hateing feminest, also if your friends are this way they will affect you also. We care about your past... So this will be a challenge for you to be open about and show true change.

Not impossible, but will be something you need to be aware of and be open about... I hope you find the right guy and have a lovely family.

If she doesn't have kids to raise, it is just pure laziness on her part to stay home while the man works. Even if she does everything around the house, including the outside chores she wouldn't be doing half as much as someone working full time.

If they had kids together and she wanted to take care of everything at home it may be acceptable, but only if she was worth it by being a good moral woman with a good moral past too. (No past of casual sex, no drugs or alcohol, no tattoos, in shape, etc.)

My problem is that women are unilaterally divorcing at a median length of 8 years.

Trust will be THE issue. It might help if you come with a reasonable prenup you've had drafted :) It would help my trust issues.

My opinion about any woman who is concise, descriptive and adamant about what she wants is one of reverence and awestruck admiration. For it's not what she wants that is so important, but rather my ability skill and eagerness to provide it.

I don't think it's smart. You should work a part time job even if it's just a job at McDonalds in case things don't work out. The longer you were unemployed the harder it is to find a new job. I imagine it's especially difficult for women.
