Lifelong marriages and "forever" relationships are not a thing of the past in most cultures and family traditions. They are evolving from a model of social and economic obligation into one based on intentionality, compatibility, and mutual fulfilment. High divorce rates and shifting social norms are changing the scenery, but most couples still pursue and achieve lasting partnerships. Modern couples tend to prioritize happiness and personal growth over staying together at all costs. "Forever" is not for facing hardship, it is about building a mutually satisfying life together. Modern couples are proactive about counselling, communication, and setting clear expectations to ensure the relationship is built to last. Legal marriage remains popular, but some choosing to stay in committed, long-term, non-married relationships, clearly defining their commitment without marriage. Because of increased education level, economic independence and strong effects of social media, women are less forced to stay in unhappy marriages for survival. All these things have made divorce less stigmatized, making it a viable option, if a relationship no longer works. All couples expect companionship, emotional support, and shared values, if these are not met, they chose to end relationship than previous generations. Long-term partners are generally aligned on life-goals, parenting and financial stability. Most marriages last for ever in our society – Indian Hindu families, and more than 50 years round the globe. Lifelong relationships are not dead, but they are no longer the default setting of modern society. They are now considered a "conscious choice"

Youth nowadays are no longer interested in a forever relationship. The last generation to be faithful to one single person is the babyboomer generation, the one that grew up before the internet and before the porn industry made brain washed us that pornography and fornication is the only way to go nowadays.

If I could turn back the clock of time, I would remove internet and make sure it never exists and that pornographic video content is totally prohibited worldwide, that the promoters, producers and consumers are being sentenced to high fines.

The corrupt society has made sure that forever relationships are no longer desired and that copulating is the only way to go nowadays.

It is a fire and forget society that is in charge now.

Most WOMEN are incapable of it and it isn't new. Gen X and Millennial women are the worst for relationships, honesty, loyalty, etc. long term. The younger generation is closer to 50/50, but Gen X and millennial women are closer to 70% or more that are not capable of having a good, stable long term relationship. It isn't new, Gen X and Millennial women have had disgusting morals for the last 30 + years.

The issue is that marriage takes a bigger toll on women than men.

You deny statistice, which since you likely don't understand what statistics are, it is recorded numbers of what actually happened in real life, not the bs lies most women like to believe and pretend are real. Far more women are unfaithful, far more women initiate divorce, far more women abuse children, far more women (only women actually) comitt paternity fraud, far more women lie in court to steal from men.

You have to base your relationship on mental and emotional factors. If beauty and attractiveness does not fade away, it will get dull with time. The personality can entertain forever. But good looks gets boring after you adapt to it.

Not at all. I have been married since 2010, and I am aware of individuals who have been married for significantly longer than me, thus refuting that theory.

It's plenty of men and women both. Men and women who have accountability and morals end up in good marriages. Men and women who lack morals and accountability end up single or in failed marriages, and play the gender blame game.

So when over 87% of women that divorce steal from the man and take what he had earned, it is a gender blame game by pointing out statistical facts?
When women murder people and get far less time in prison for it (murdering their own kids or their husbands), it is a gender blame game to point it out?
When far more women are unfaithful, and comitt paternity fraud, it is a gender blame game to point out the truth that is proven by DNA tests?

Come on. Why do you lie to protect the MAJORITY of women that are very immoral and have ruined society and relationships.

You can determine how likely BOTH men and women will go through divorce based on their own body count. THAT is a statistical fact. Men and women's marital satisfaction can both be measured in relation to how many sexual partners they have had in their lifetime. THAT is a statistical fact. So based on those two statistical facts, BOTH men and women can predict the likelihood of their marital success, IF they are willing to take accountability and check their own quality.

Unfortunately, yes. There is a girl from my past I cannot escape. I don't think everyone can do it, and you need to find the person that hits all the right keys.

No, they aren't, but many people get married young to someone unsuitable.

I think they largely are.

I do think there will still be men and women that will make it work. But I don't think most women want anything permanent anymore.
