I’m 33. Is it all over? Should I marry soon or otherwise it’s never?
No your age doesn’t have anything to do with it , it’s unfortunately the way this society is today , so many people have become selfish and that’s why it’s harder to find an actual partner , that actually wants to settle down with you. Sex is the new norm , and sex is easier to get over finding someone that actually loves you for you. Most people today only want what they feel is best for themselves and relationships do not form that way whatsoever. A relationship takes 2 people choosing each other always and prioritizing each other always , sadly most people Today do not know how to do that because they only truly care about themselves. I was married for 20 years to my ex that decided she no longer wanted to be tied down to me anymore once the kids’ got older , so now I am 48 entering back into this dating world and I feel so lost on how selfish people have become. I blame a lot of it on social media that we allowed to brainwash us into believing in nonsense , so I am no longer rushing into a relationship with anyone , until I really get to know them and see the big picture before I have my heart broken again , FWB’s with some strings attached seems to be my best option these days to give her and I time to really get to know each other before making the big decision of fully committing to each other , so the both of us don’t get hurt if one of us decides this isn’t what we really want. It takes time to really get to know someone , the sex is just an added bonus pretty much

1 moThe value of men and women flip as they age. Women seek men who have already made achievements, found success and showed they're capable in life. That usually comes with age. Whereas men seek women who are beautiful, kind, and can give them a family.
Let me be clear... women still have value and can find partners later on in life. They actually still have an easier time than men finding partners in their later years. But because they're used to getting so much attention when they were younger, it seems like a very small amount of attention to them when they get older.
You can definitely find more desperate men wanting to settle down later on in life, but it is just a fact you will not be as valuable in the dating market when you're older as a girl. Men have never cared for a girl's career or income.00 Reply

but yes some educated women have difficulty finding a partner.
Not because they are educated, mostly because they a too much focused on their education and career that they forget to think for their family life.
in which after getting successful in education and career, which is around age 35 yr old. At that age the window of finding a partner gets shorter, mostly the guys who are into building family with kids and not available.

Apparently so. Time and again I’ve been told “you know what your problem is? You’re too smart… don’t tell people about your education.” And several pretty young women in my circle are constantly being told “why are you still in school? You’re wasting your best years. You’re too pretty for that.” As if being smart and being pretty/sexy are mutually exclusive things.
I guess some guys are just jellyfish so they can’t handle an educated woman. 🤷🏻♀️21 Reply

Educated, beautiful, rich, it doesn’t matter the caliber, any woman can either struggle or be successful with dating. You are educated, but it takes more to connect and form a relationship with someone than that.

u 1 moNot necessarily, but it depends on what you're looking for in a man and what you'll want and expect from him. And also, what you're willing to give to him, to bring to the table.
For what it's worth though, I know a woman who got married when she was 38 and had a baby. There's also a podcaster named Jedidiah Bila. She got married at 40 and had a baby as well, and from what I have gathered, the baby did turn out to be perfectly healthy.
My opinion is that it's not a lost cause, but if it's what you want, sooner will be better than later.

1 moAnswer me honestly. How many guys did you turn away from 18-35?
Because you were focused on your education. Because you thought you could do better? Because you were focused on your career?
Nothing wrong with any of those choices. But all choices come with consequences.
They lied when they told you you could have it all. On your own timeline.
Men have goals and objectives too. And they have choices to make. By their mid 30s they have either made those choices already or they are choosing younger women.
Like it. Don’t like it. That’s reality.

You are right. Its a common occurrence with career women over 30. They can't understand why that the reason there aren't anymore high value guys pursuing them anymore is because those guys are already taken. So they will either have to date down in terms of economic status or date an older man. They won't date lower so will try to date an older high value man but he's likely divorced with kids and is just looking a little bit of slap and tickle not marraige and kids or is married and just wants a mistress.

@nastyb, @Just_Ken,
I'm one of those 40-60 year old guys. I date women in their 30's to 50's all the time (some 20's). And I'm not still paying for the divorce, LOL. My ex and my adult sons are set for life. The divorce was amicable. I'm enjoying my freedom for the last 10 years in my personal life and my career.
In my case, relative to what the OP is asking about, I've been there and done that... wife, kids, career. I have no interest in starting a family again. Marriage? Not a priority or an imperative for me at the moment. But, I'm not some Red Pill woman hating asshole who's given up. On the contrary, I'm having a great time picking and choosing the interesting business opportunities I want to work on and meeting lot's of new women pretty frequently. Sometimes it's just a friends thing. Sometimes it's a quick fling. Sometimes it's a relationship. Would I consider marriage again? Sure, with the right person in the right circumstances. But right now my life is pretty good. I'm under zero pressure to change things up. So why would I? - 1 mo
@OneViewpoint
Marriage isn't Important because you aren't sick and need help yet. Once you hit your 70s and you start seeing illnesses creep up and your kids only visit you twice a year, that's when you will start considering marriage - 1 mo
@nastyb ,
LOL, wrong again. My youngest son lives with me. My ex has had 2 hip replacements and is now pre diabetic. I made sure she's financially independent. Who is taking care of who? Everyone around me is aging faster than me. I have zero health issues. I still run, ski, backpack, swim, body surf, lift weights, row and generally do what I've always done. I'm 10lbs heavier than the day I graduated from college 40 years ago. Still have a full head of hair and almost zero wrinkles on my face. I get told I don't "move" like a guy my age. Not sure what people expect but apparently it's not me. I've switched friend groups several times over the years because everyone I know keeps aging out of all the things they used to do. It's weird. - 1 mo
@OneViewpoint
I am a nurse. I can tell you that most people die around 75. Just because you can still run around healthy at 60, it doesn't mean you will still be running around healthy at 75. Dementia and Parkinson might hit you out of nowhere and i have seen it.
Men don't tend to live as long as women. Most folks who live past 80 tend to be women. - 1 mo
I see that too now living in America. You all have such bad health. But you gotta take credit for busting your ex's hips lol.
Im in my 40s myself and keep myself in shape, im nowhere near where i was in my army days but im pretty fit with boxing cardio, weights, swimming, hiking. All my American neighbours of the same age are struggling with obesity, diabetes, pill problems, alcoholism etc. Struck up a friend ship with a few ex us military personnel and theyve kept military discipline like myself so are in reasonable shape. - 1 mo
@nastyb ,
There's no history of heart disease, Alzheimer's, cancer, or dementia in my family. Most people in my gene line live into their 90's or early 100's. My grandfather worked in a lumber mill until he was 76. He was jacked and ripped at 76. He lived to 95. My father was the exception. He died at 72. But he was a 2 pack a day smoker from about age 17 until the day he died. He never exercised. And his diet was horrible. That was self inflicted wounds.
LOL, my resting heart rate is usually around 55. A new nurse in my doctor's office a couple of years ago was doing the pulse ox, temp, heart rate, and blood pressure while a second tech hooked me up for an EKG. Afterwards they were both over in a corner whispering to each other. The male nurse who did the pulse ox stuff eventually came over and asked me "are you some kind of world class athlete or something"? I said "something like that, why". Apparently both nurses had independently measured my heart rate at 54 bpm. They were worried there was something wrong with me. I laughed and told him 54 bpm was totally normal for me and has been my entire adult life. - 1 mo
@OneViewpoint
Some people naturally have lower heart rates... it in no way means your heart is better. Just the same way other people have naturally higher heart rates. Other people have lower blood pressures.
Yes, it is most likely over.
2 reasons.
Firstly, you dont qualify for the men that you want. Traditional men only date traditional women. Those women are fit, feminine virgins. And 18-25 years olds in most cases.
Secondly, do you women think that good men/women just sit around and wait for the scrap to be done with their H phases and etc? To then date you? No, dream the f on. Good people got together already. Mostly scraps left in the market after 26, just worse odds with every year.
Sure, some men wait longer, but they aren't going to go for an old woman who has nothing to offer to them. These men want a family, and a good wife, they will go for a fit feminine virgin that is in her early 20s.
You may be mad at men, feminism or social media, but you made your own choices, you are the one to blame for such outcomes.
Good luck.01 Reply
Anonymous(45 Plus)1 moEven w out the education at your age that door is slowly closing. I’m not saying it’s impossible to meet someone, your chances are just slimmer at this age. Women tend to want taller men, a man w status, money, etc. Men usually want younger women. As far as the education part, it can lower your chances even more decoding on how you carry it, how you use it. A lot of women who are educated tend to throw that in men’s faces like we really care about her education. Some men do. But the difference there is her acting like she’s high n mighty. It’s sort of like when women get power over men, they don’t know how to use it productively. They tend to look down on the man, abuse their powers. Would you say you’re pretty? I’m just wondering how come you have not met someone all this time? Married by now or have a child? Maybe you do. Were you too concentrated in your education?

Anonymous(25-29)1 moIt is still possible to find a partner over the age of 35, if you are willing to settle or lower your standards. Nowadays, it is not uncommon to see 36 to 40 yr olds have babies. But if you are looking for a high value, tall, accomplished, rich, good looking dude, you might not be able to score him. You would probably have plenty of men in their late 40s and 50s leering at you.
Men's value decreases as they get older too. It's not like the average 50 yr old man can attract the young 25 yr olds he is craving.
10 ReplyIt’s better to not get married than to rush into a marriage. There’s no such thing as the perfect person but there is such thing as good enough. Look for good enough, not perfection. Mr. Right, not Mr. Right Now. It’s not the 1800’s, you don’t need to have kids so you have free farm laborers anymore. Nevermind that “the clock is ticking” bullshit. Not having kids doesn’t make you a failure as a woman. You better live with a guy for at least a year first to make sure he’s but an undercover shit bag. Plus what if he leaves the cap off the toothpaste until you hit him in the head with a frying pan?

1 moSadly it's not just educated women who struggle after 35. The saying is "men age like wine and women age like milk", which is partly true. Time is not on your side. Perhaps it can be harder for highly educated women who have a high paying job, because women almost always still want a man to earn more, so that severely limits her potential "husband material". Just gotta say that men don't care about a woman's paycheck or degree, generally speaking, so that's a female concern that you can try to ignore for greater selection of partners. But I know that has to be hard since women almost never "marry down" like men do.
00 ReplyI would say don’t rush anything. Forget about society’s pressure, make sure you’re secure and safe with yourself, and with anyone you’re going to take that decision with. Don’t be dependent on people’s opinions, and don’t let their opinions decide your future. At 35 we should know better..!

1 moI am talking in general here… men want children and a late 30s early 40s girl has greatly lessened the possibility of children.
That’s why “educated women” have more of a struggle finding a man…. And it’s not because they are educated it’s because of their age. If a man wants children he wants a 20 something to have those children with.08 Reply- 1 mo

1 moNot at all Being educated and knowing what you want just shrinks the pool of bad options, not good ones. Don't rush into marriage out of fear the right person will value your intelligence and success regardless of age. Just be careful not to let past hurt make you overly guarded, because sometimes people get so hyper-vigilant trying to protect themselves that they end up taking the right person for granted when they finally show up
00 ReplyYou can find partners either way, its the amount of options that makes the difference. You will only be able to get an older guy or someone who can't get younger. Fertility wise it makes more sense to get with someone young so you don't have to rush children, so guys will prefer to date younger so the relationship doesn't turn into a rush.

Dont be so ignorant. And again 33 is not old , I am financially succesful own a house that isnpaid off and capable of supporting a child and pay for the best school education. Anonymous(25-29)1 moI think most women do, it's because men are looking for something who wants to experience for the first time, who isn't annoying or commanding.
It's not like men hate strong women it's just the needs.
Women forget that men are humans with there own emotions, goals and personality.
Also we tend to be childish around the people we adore.
Women after 30's have a very high body count, nothing is new and exciting for them, complaining, nagging, no fun times.
Even if you ignore the obvious reasons, they never give the person who is interested in them a chance, and give everything to a person who is going to just sleep with them and use them.
And that keeps repeating for most women. All around the world.
And then complain to someone who used to be interested in them romantically.
After that complaining starts it's too late for you I am afraid.00 Reply- 335 opinions shared on Marriage & Weddings topic.
1 moOnly a fool would try to marry a 33 year old.
You have been having sex since 16-19...15 or more years of letting men that are not your husband in you, you are set in your ways now, getting wrinkles, most of your prime reproductive, family building years are gone.
That isn't wife material.
00 Reply
1 moI wouldn't say that. I had a Great Aunt who was married 6 times. Her last marriage was in her 80s. She was widowed 5 times.
There will still be chances for marriage later in life.
However, what is in jeopardy is your chance of having children. From your age on your ability to do that declines rapidly. So if that is your desire, you should start giving serious thought to making finding a husband a top priority.
00 ReplySome do. There's obviously way more factors that go into this like location and looks.
Also some of the perceived lesser desire is just that, perceived.
The men you have rejected IRL or on dating apps before are already out of the picture which means less suitors but not a lesser desirability by itself.

Anonymous(45 Plus)1 mo"Educated"? Are you suggesting she's very judgmental? Because, yeah she'll probably going to struggle then since her greatest asset is beginning to fade.
