I guess I'm very traditional...I believe some tasks are reserved for the men and some others for the women. (Sorry to all the feminists out there!) It would make me feel like he doesn't really wanna marry me if I had to propose and that I'm forcing his hand.
This is no opinion. I'm a man. This is an actual experience I've gone through. My fiancée proposed to me and I said yes to her. We are to be married soon estimating along this year to the early new year.
It's only a "mans job" because we grew up in a patriarchy society. A man proposing is as much as a "mans job" as it is a "womans job" to be a stay at home wife who spends most of her time cooking and cleaning the house.
Whether or not you have a problem with it is irrelevant. The point it, it's not a "mans job" to propose and it's not a "womans job" to be the stay at home wife. If you want to be a stay at home wife/mom, and you want a man to do the proposing then the more power to you, but it's not either genders job to do said things.
probably because I'd be scared he'd say no. And I think I always think about marriage first and how I'd love to be married. And I'd dream about it, I wouldn't want to put the guy on the spot!

naw I'd be okay doing the proposing, however asking out on a first date, the first move, that I would love from a girl
I think my boyfriend would break up with me if I even considered doing that. He wants to be in control of the relationship, and largely is.
I wouldn't propose. I would hint that I want to get married but that's it.
Why not?

No because girls need to know when a guy is committed to you.
And a guy does not need to know if the girl is committed to him?
Haha I think they do.
Don't you think he would be committed if he said yes?

i would ask her why are you proposing to me? I should be the one to propose to you.
Would probably say no, I think the guy should propose to the girl.
But Diamonds are also a guy's best friend. Right? I agree with you though,
even as my username says, proposing would be one of the few instances in which I would be fine, comfortable taking charge, initiating
To be honest, if were long into our relationship and she seems right then I'm all for it to say yes but, Girls would never propose :/
I have thought about proposing, but I know deep down I'd want to be proposed too.
If I feel like we're both ready, then I'll say yes.
I can't even hit on guys so I don't see myslef proposing
topanga proposed to cory on boy meets world
My thoughts exactly. haha
no. I prefer guys to be the ones to propose.
Nope it's the guys job

How os it not lol it's always been their job

That's all my mom did I don't see an issue with it

I wouldn't feel comfortable with proposing to my husband just because it is know it's the ams thing to do and it would be taking it away from him
I would...make a O_O face.
i will be pretty happy
saying "yes" comes to mind...
i wouldn't want to propose
Why not?
no flipping way I'd ever propose.
why?
