Why do Guys hate shopping so much?

I have always had a problem trying to get my boyfriend and my brother to go shopping with me. They both say that we women take forever to shop and we are all over the place. What's your take on this?

I do understand the problem, Used to act like that when i started my relationship. It's communication between you two and teamwork, now we know each other after almost 9 years so here is the thing, or an idea! If you want your man to be with you shopping to have a second opinion from him, sure why not. You can do this for hours ''guessing'' but if you two are out shopping some things for but you are not sure what is it you are after and it's like a research shopping (check how things look, colors, fit, material so on) for some men it's useless and just waist of time. For me i can be with my wife shopping for hours no problem, but if my mother in law is with us, i go in my way, even my wife losses her mind. talk to him and see how to make him understand and how much you would love to have him when you go shopping.

Your boyfriend and Brother are right. On average, women do take a lot longer than men.

Well that is true, why not take ur friends instead? Or go to a mall that has clothes and food stands so both can do little bit of both. Try new foods and shop lol

I can't speak for other guys but when I go shopping I already have a list of set places in mind , these are the things I need , these are the places I will go to , this is how much I will spend , get in , get out.
Shopping to guys it's more like... a chore than leisure.
(unless we are talking about cars and books and bikes and games , then that's different)
Girls however take their time to browse , not really having something specific in mind but more so a general idea and see whatever comes up. Guys get kinda annoyed by it because it's so... aimless , it's not objective based.

Men like shopping about as much as women do, but they are interested in different things, and the things they like, they don't spend as much time on.

Back before digital downloads became the norm, plenty of men would happily spend a long time in record shops. Men will spend time in shops like best buy or the apple store or whatever. Men will spend time in shops with outdoor goods or guns or whatever. Men are not so interested in spending hours looking at women's clothing, and even less interested in spending hours looking at women's accessories. They also tend to not enjoy 'trying on clothing looks', so if they need to buy some clothing item, they normally know what they want, and every step of looking at clothes that isn't getting that, is frustrating, not fun.

Well i can speak only for myself but for me its just boring. If i want something to buy i already know what i want i just go out there and buy it, it literally takes me 2 mins. On the other hand when my girlfriend goes to shopping it can last for hours man and she is so indecisive. These boots? Or maybe them other ones? Or maybe both?
Its not that i dont enjoy her company its just that it takes too long and becomes boring for me.

Usually guys go to the store with something specific in mind they want to buy. They don't usually like to just look around for long periods of time. It gets really boring to me. Especially clothes shopping.
If I want something, I want to get it, then go home and actually use it. I go for the item, not the experience of looking around in stores.

When I shop, I know what I need, I find it, buy it and get out. Shopping is not entertaining AT ALL. And yes, women tend to wonder around aimless which can go from irritating to infuriating when its crowded.

We don't hate shopping. We know what we want when we go to the store.. get it and get the hell out. We hate "shopping" with you because it takes all fucking day, you buy shit you don't need and waste half the day looking at shit.
