I don't mind, I actually do most of the grocery shopping myself. I like to go early in the morning before work, as there are only a few people. Check out is fast.
During the weekend, we somethimes go shopping with the family. I'm OK in the women's clothes section. I sometimes find stuff that either my wife or my daughter likes and will gladly buy it.
The only shop where I lose patience is where they sell perfumes and make-up. They can spend half an hour looking for a particular colour lip gloss. I'll visit other shops in the meantime. We'll meet at a certain time in another shop, or place to have lunch.

What Guys Said
1 yI love shopping for dvds, cds, posters, collectibles, and other stuff.
I believe it is down to personal preference, like if you are trying to save money then you hate shopping though if a friend or colleague or romantic partner gave you $5 or $25 you are going to suddenly want to shop.
When we have more money, we love to spend more of it. When money isn’t high then we restrain ourselves.

I also think that men do not like treating shopping as a recreational activity the way women do. My idea of shopping is to go find what I want. Buy it and bring it home. That's it. The things I buy are useful generally although some are decorative too as well. I am going to hang the art in my home or display and I am going to use the other things I buy like computer parts to build something that I want. The shopping itself is just a means of getting the things I need to do this this.

1 yWe hate doing Shopping with the Woman! We are very simple creatures, we look through the fridge/cupboard, we go at the shop, buy everything that is needed and... Back, we're not like.. i don't like this, that one doesn't look like will be any good, etc, etc.. we just buy and Done!
20 Reply 369 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. Absolute nonsense.
But the way men shop and the way women shop is completely different. And women kinda dominate the narrative regarding what constitutes "shopping". The way women "shop" is like torture to men.
To clarify... when men want something, they tend to just buy it. Putting aside the convenience of modern Internet purchases, at least classically if men wanted things then they would go straight to where it was sold, buy them, and come back. That is shopping to a man.
Women meanwhile will go into clothes shops, spend 2 hours trying things on, then walk out without buying anything. They'll go from one shop to the next sampling everything, then maybe go back to the first shop and start over. When they do get to buying things, they'll buy loads of different things... but then send 90% of them back later for one reason or other.
To men... this is insanity. Completely inefficient, messy, wasteful and pointless. But women seem to enjoy it.
There are always exceptions of course. I don't speak for everyone. But this tends to be the trend.20 Reply- 1.2K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic.
1 yNot if it is something I am wanting to buy. I sometimes like to check out stuff to see what is out there and then grab something to eat or drink at a food court.
I love to shop for books or guitars or things I am into.
I don't like to gift shop because it is hard to find stuff others like. It is boring to just be with someone while they are shopping.
I bet lots of guys are bored going shopping with their girl because they can shop for so long and often want to look at women's clothes and little cute decorative things that bore him.

Do you like taking your man shopping? What do you usually like to shop for?
- 1 y
I don't really loooove shopping. I shop for groceries, clothes and accessories or materials for the clothes I make. And I have never shopped in company with a man.
1 yWhat kind of man? Effeminate men love fucking shopping. They have just as many shoes as women. They also think a lot about bullshit like fashion. Basically, just like women, but a male version of them.
But by saying men in general... now you're including dudes that don't give a fuck. You're lucky if he even changes his clothes half the time. If he doesn't have a woman shopping for him, he'll end up buying a bunch of the same shit like Tim Pool did... just dressing the same every day while still changing clothes, because that sort of stuff bores the shit out of men with more manly things on their minds. I know because I'm one of those dudes. I change to avoid the stink, but if I didn't eventually stink I probably wouldn't bother. My favorite outfit is being naked.
10 Reply1.2K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. I grow hydroponic tomatoes on my balcony. They end up taking up at least half the balcony. A female friend really gets off on picking the bright red berry tomatoes. She salivates.
I like picking ripe tomatoes too but it is different with her. There is something deeply instinctively satisfying to her in gathering.
I'm convinced shopping stems from this core root. What I dislike most about shopping is waiting for a girl to decide if the berry is ripe enough to pick. I takes a long time.

1 yNo, but yes?
I can spend quite some time checking out things I am interested in. (Stereo-) typically this will be tool shops or hardware in general :D
Where I loathe it is to do shopping with the Missus. I just don't have the patience to spend two hours on deciding which of the three 'brands' of butter on offer I should pick.
Probably, this has something to do with human instincts:
men are more like hunters, and women are more like gatherers? ...
As a ''provocation'' - men also focus more on the targets that count... :P

1 yIt depends on the guy; I will shop for a nice jacket or a good scent cologne. I don't need people telling me what to buy unless I want a salesman's POV on, let's say, buying a suit. I'm not one of those guys who reuses the same nasty, crusty underwear or stained or tattered track pants or jeans. I'll give an example of my style, simple and comfortable.

10 Reply1.8K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. It is nice when we are on our own, when we do so with women we never know when she will make a decision and if our entire day off from work will be spent twiddling our thumbs waiting for her to make a decision. Most of us don't get this upset but this was an extreme reaction a man in China had. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/man-jumps-to-his-death-after-argument-with-girlfriend-in-chinese-shopping-mall-state-media-say-8994795.html
20 Reply2.2K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. I think it has some more to do with being in busy stores and being pressured to buy things that we cannot afford or don't want to afford and things of that nature than it does of the actual shopping itself. I like shopping for art pieces and for glassware and for other things online. But I don't want to go and look at these stuff in person. Generally speaking because I don't like being in crowds and most men do not like being in crowds. We don't feel safe in crowds for the most part. Covid just accentuated this for those of us that were smart enough to avoid it. We also don't like clothes shopping very much. Although women seem to really enjoy this a great deal.
20 Reply4.9K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. Most men don't shop like women do. We mostly know what we want, go in and buy it, and are done shopping.
There are a few exceptions, and occasionally every guy will "shop" for a tool or a car or something else reasonably expensive because he wants to make sure he doesn't get screwed over, but overall, men don't want to browse for hours looking at things we don't intend to buy.40 Reply- 1.6K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic.
1 yMyth. We guys love shopping... for gadgets, electronics, tools, things for DIY projects, etc..
What we guys don't like is going clothes shopping with our girls. Boring. And she usually asks for our opinion on how something looks, and then ignores whatever we say.

1 yI don’t hate it , but I’m definitely one who doesn’t do browsing unless it’s within an area of interest for me. So for the mundane shopping like everyday clothes , food , house & garden bits I get bored really quickly. For my interests - AV , Tech , guitars I could easily loose hours researching and browsing.

1 yDepends what for.
Car bits - no
Anything entertaining or collectables - no
Clothes - yes but this can be mitigated i. e. if you want 2 pairs of jeans you go in the shop find 2 pairs in the right size try them on then buy them 10 mins job done10 Reply
1 yWell if i go shopping myself, deep down i start to wish i dont buy anything and go home coz i know my social anxiety will make me buy a thing i dont like but because i just stared at it and checked it for too long and feared i look crazy

1 yI personally enjoy shopping. I'm pretty picky with food and I enjoy updating my wardrobe. I also like shopping for the right piece of furniture. I do tons of research on products before getting them. I'd say the majority of men don't really care too much though.

1 yI don't mind going, I just don't wanna sit around with my thumbs up my ass for hours waiting for her to try on every shoe or dress in the store. You go shop for what you want, I'll be over in the record store shopping for what I want! Come get me when you're done!
10 Reply 375 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. YES going shopping versus buying things is true. I personally cannot be bothered wandering through aisle upon aisle trying this and that and come away with nothing in the end apart from "seeing" how things are. If you want to buy something, go in find it, buy it. This perving over all the alternatives is a sick fetish of materialism that some people need to get over. Heck even buying cars and houses is a drama and they cost like 50 years income.
10 Reply329 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. True… unless we are at Home Depot or Lowe’s, which I refer to as the toy store. REI too, Mmmm Yeti.
I was in Home Depot a week ago and my wife spinning some random thing on a shelf. I laughed inside because I do that at the clothing or food store. She commented that she now knows how I feel at the other stores. I was there for a cold air register and an electrical outlet box. Yeah baby! :D

1 yDepends on what I'm shopping for.. But in most cases it's true.
I will explain why.. When we shop it's a purpose, we are there to get xyz items and that's it. When women shop there is so much goddamn time wasted on nonsense that getting what's needed takes 4 times as long.10 Reply
Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yI like to get stuff, not shop around. you women are berry pickers... going around bushes and chit chatting... we dudes were hunters... sitting in the cold wet tundra hoping some animal come along to spear. That's why we like the buffet and sushi delivery thing that delivers food at our table.

m 1 yI assume you're not talking about groceries but leisure instead since I don't see any gender thrilled by the prospect of a supermarket lol. Shopping as leisure, in general? I'd believe in this stereotype about men, yes, by default.
20 Reply I don’t enjoy the ritual itself
But I do enjoy going to get something that I’ve been wanting to buy
So I think it’s partially true for me specifically30 Reply1.7K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. I don’t mind shopping only if we aren’t shopping for a long period of time , and wasting the day away , I can only shop for so long until I had enough , once I had enough , I will tell her let’s go or I will
Come back and pick you up later lol10 Reply4.4K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. I like going shopping and watching my wife try on clothes. Mostly she buys designer clothes from thrift and resale stores. I hate shopping for my own clothes.
20 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. I'm fine with it.
A lot depends on what I am shopping for.
Motorcycle parts, parts for the race car, parts for my classic cars, the correct T shirt of the day, tools, I'm fine with.
What time do we leave?10 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. Well it's not hating shopping it's just we go in to find what we know we want or we want to quickly look.
