Is it more common for women or men to do the grocery shopping?

I've always been of the belief that the man "brings home the bacon". Always thought bacon meant bread🤣. Should grocery shopping be classified as providing?

From my understanding, house wives does grocery shopping often. Since their husband is working, it’s women’s responsibility to budget the money, she knows better what to cook for her family and what’s needed in the the house. Though, those who are both working. it is fun to do it together. since it’s one of the few time they could spend together.

I always did 50% of the cooking

Also I earn about 3 times what my wife earns

So I would earn the money, buy groceries put them in cupboard, do the cooking.

It just felt like I was doing everything. This was during covid.

Then also I subscribed to this prepacked food delivery for meals. It broadened horizons about cooking and stuff. So I was making those as well.

Meanwhile my wife will cook only if necessary and just the same old stuff.
