Do you prefer round or rectangular furniture?

Rectangular rooms, rectangular furniture.

I just find rectangular is much more practical and efficient in its design, and is able to accommodate more people and hold/store/display more things for a given size. Whether it be a dining room table, end table, coffee table, bedside table, bookshelf, etc.

Rectangular or square furniture also fits into corners better, and given that just about all items in a room are right angles, everything just fits together better. Like a jigsaw puzzle. To use an analogy: it's like fitting a square peg into a square hole so to speak, or like a game of Tetris. It just fits. Unlike a round peg into a square hole, which is just wasted space.

That, and in regards to rectangular furniture, visually speaking, it just has cleaner lines with better flow. Unlike round furniture in a room that is rectangular and full of other right angles: it just winds up looking odd. Almost like out-of-place round blobs. As an example: why are all kitchen islands rectangular? Because a round island would look disjointed and out of place.

Depends on which piece of furniture it is. I love Mid-Century Modern and Atomic style furniture, and they can be either round or rectangular.
