Have you ever met a very rich person that was not materialistic?

In high school I was the most loving and charitable person you could possibly imagine but I also loved money, I still remember the ice freezie I ate at the mall as a 16 year old kid because I enjoyed the taste so much. And I remember how happy I was at age 13 when my cousin and I went to the mall to shop for pants. I was obsessed with beauty and style til age 14.

Those aren’t the kind of things I’d qualify as materialistic, but I grew up in a developed country. I’d probably call someone who wears pants materialistic too if I grew up on North Sentinel island or something.

Yeah, he was so non-materialistic that I didn't realize he was so rich even after visiting his home several times. It wasn't until my then-gf mentioned it that I found out.

There are a lot of people that are quite wealthy that do not want it. Some of them live next door in your neighborhoods.
