Boyfriend buys me similar things that he used to buy his ex wife?

boyfriend wanted to buy me shoes that looked exactly like a pair that his ex wife used to own. Bought her an engagement ring that was rose gold, the bracelet he got me is rose gold. Also use to tell me to try shopping at a place his ex use to. Any red flags here or am I just looking too in to it?

He is just telling you what sort of things he likes. Or funds attractive. I’m f you want though tell him that you prefer white gold or something so that he makes that slight adjustment in his mind.

Possibly, but unlikely. He’s probably just doing what he knows. More concise red flags would be him talking about her a lot or calling you by her name.

Oh, well that’s happened a lot. Not praising her, but telling me all the bad that we went through in the relationship. Was brought up very randomly all the time, doesn’t happen much anymore. He has slipped up on calling me by her name a few times also…but then again so has his family. So not sure. They were together for 3 to 4 years and they have a daughter together.

Hmm, having a kid that ties him to his ex makes things complicated. Especially if he was recently separated from her. If it’s less and less frequent I wouldn’t be too worried.

It’s Been a few years I believe. They co parent, but she asks him for help a lot and she’s always running around with different men. He lights up whenever he talks to her at drop offs and pick ups. I’ve thought about leaving..

I take it she left him? This is one of the issues that can come up with dating single parents. You get caught up in a bunch of drama you didn’t sign up for. If you really like him and believe he shares the same feelings for you, you can stick with it, but you need to set boundaries and be aware of abnormal things (like his weird fetish). Judging by your question and the other question on here (if it’s the same guy that is) it seems you’re having some doubts. Don’t be afraid to listen to your gut.
