Is it ok to give my friends simple Christmas and birthday gifts?

I recently posted my friend a cat decorative plate and stand for her birthday, and cushion cover embroidery kit, for Christmas. She loves animals and embroidery. My guy friend loves board games, so I’m buying him one for his birthday, giving him a lovely scented candle for Christmas. I’ve given more to my closer friends, but my work friends, I’ve got a crystal bracelet for Christmas and a pair of earrings for the other friend. I don’t have much money and what I’ve got, I’ve got to spend on my boyfriend and 3 other close friends in the way of better quality gifts.

those are nice. even a purchased card with your personal handwritten note is enough, adult to adult.
