At the supermarket, do you return unwanted items or leave them for staff?

Only if they inconvenience me first. Generally I always put things back where they go. Like if I put something in my cart and they mismarked it I don't feel bad about them having to put it back. But I will if it's obviously a refrigerated product or if I'm close by. But I'm not going to walk all the way across the store for their screw up.

And to give you an idea I've did this like once in the last 8 months. So I don't do it very often. I was kind of pissed off at the time.🤣 It's infuriating when you're trying to stick to a budget. I typically know what I'm getting before I ever get there. But sometimes you gotta make adjustments on the fly when they're out of something that was kind of crucial to your shopping plan.

the cashier takes it and puts it off to the side. I don’t have to go back because I’ve got my groceries waiting for me at the front of the grocery store then I gotta go back and then when I come back, what if the cart is gone if somebody takes it that’s very possible

I will return them to their proper place if it's my issue. If the issue has to do with store personnel stupidity, mislabeling, not honoring prices, etc., I will leave them in the cart for the store personnel to practice their trade.
