I'm not criticizing, I'm just saying it doesn't appeal to me at all. Maybe there are guys who like it I don't know. For me you might as well be wearing a mask.
To me, make up on somebody's face, if it is made correctly and with taste, represents a real art and I like looking at it even if it doesn't reflect that real woman's natural beauty all the time.
@cipher42 interesting, then it works the same as high heels and push up bra's? you are actually not taller and your breasts are actually not bigger, it is just about how it looks. i knew looks were important to women, but i would have never guessed that it was this important to them. why not gain self confidence by learning a skill, or picking up a hobby? these are proven means to get more self confidence.
I'm highly positive that learning makeup IS a skill and a hobby. Not everyone can apply makeup in a flattering or artist way. Not everyone can apply it into others either. It takes years and hours of practice and effort to achieve looks that people put off as "too much makeup". It's not something that can be instantly picked up. Those who are interested in makeup spend plenty of money on their supplies, just like a hobby. Also, the better the supplies, the better the results are likely to be.
People love to talk about how vain or pointless people who wear makeup are, but I present this question to them: can you create what they can? Can your makeup look better than theirs? If not, kindly respect their craft.
Would you criticize that an artist is painting with "too much paint"?
They say that anyone who wears makeup has low self esteem, but are you confident enough to wear your art on yourself? Blaringly obvious for the world to see? Mistakes and flaws and all?
Actually, I am quite confident with my own face. I am barefaced the majority of the time because I am more than comfortable with how I naturally look. In fact, I would say that takes MORE confidence while WEARING makeup than not because I have to face judgments, opinions, and disapproval from people who doesn't like my makeup for the day. I have to be confident enough to still stand by what I like and how I chose to present myself, especially since I am not doing anything illegal or harmful to anyone. I have to be confident enough to reassure myself that despite the fact that countless people won't agree with my decision, it does not make it wrong; it's simply not for them. I am perfectly fine with not wearing makeup any day of my choosing; I'm not going to feel any less or worse without it. But I do love makeup and it only makes me feel better. I'm not the best at it, because I'm still learning, but what I can do makes me proud of where I've come and how much I've learned.

So are we talking "too much make-up" or just plain "make-up"?

If my partner says I'm wearing too much makeup, I'll tone it down. You people are way too politically correct.
you were saying?

holy shit she is an ugly beast without makeup.
A bit specific a gripe there. Hows about we need to stop judging people full stop
As coco chanel said, there is nothing more arrogant than going outside without makeup.
do you really need all these powders and creams and whatever to feel even a tiny amount of self confidence? this just ridiculous.
No? It's not that without makeup girls have no confidence, its that with it they have more. How is that a bad thing?

Just my two cents.
@xXVoicesXx are you confident enough to wear your own face? it seems not.

Yes we do, I've seen girls that if they wore anymore fake tan Madonna would try and adopt them
True but I think a woman should be allowed to wear as little or as much makeup as they want
People should be free and feel secure to do whatever they want as long as they aren't harming someone else
Fuck that, makeup or no makeup, I'm going with her anyways!
Muahahahaha!
Nah, i don't ever tell women they wear too much make up but its simply a turn off.
I disagree, I never liked makeup, natural beauty rules.
Fantastic. You don't like makeup, so you feel free to not wear it. But don't tell other people what they should or shouldn't put on their own faces.
@cipher42 I meant, I don't like makeup on girls... and of course I would never wear it, it's not healthy.
Makeup reminds me of prostitutes (they used to be called "painted ladies" in the 1800s). I prefer NO makeup, honestly.
who wants to kiss a girl and get this wax crap all over their face?
I don't really like makeup, so I don't date girls who wear a lot of make up
Okay, you need to watch Fox News and then tell us if you still feel that way.
Naa, im gonna continue telling it as I see it.
The amount of makeup I choose to put on MY face is none of your business.
To be fair, I also do not call it as I see it unless asked.
You wear too much makeup.
