Three of the Best Ways to Destroy Your New SUV

Have you ever wanted to destroy your fancy new SUV[sport utility vehicle]? Pfft. What the hell am I saying? Of course you haven't. Which is why I have put together three of the easiest ways you could destroy your SUV without even breaking a sweat

Three of the Best Ways to Destroy Your New SUV

#1--Filling up with the wrong fuel.[e.g. putting petrol/gasoline in a diesel or vice versa.

Which one of those do you think is worse? Putting petrol in a diesel or diesel in a petrol? If you guessed, "petrol in a diesel," then you're incredibly smart. If you put diesel in a petrol car, it will be a huge mistake, but no real damage will be done. They will just have to take everything from the tank to the fuel injectors apart and clean them and put them back together.

But put petrol in a diesel? That's 10 times worse! Because modern diesel cars have state of the art direct precision fuel injectors, and before the fuel get's there it has to go through the high-pressure mechanical fuel pumps, which rely on the lubrication of diesel to operate smoothly. Once petrol starts flowing through these, the lubrication is gone, the innards of the pumps start to abrade, not only destroying these pumps, but sending small metal filings into the injectors, destroying them. This will require such an expensive rebuild, they will have to sit you down next to the first aid defibrillator at the service department before giving you the bad news.

#2[for AWD cars] Forgetting to turn off your diff' locker.

Three of the Best Ways to Destroy Your New SUV

An SUV owners top five favorite activity is commuting with nature. And the interesting thing about AWD cars is that they spend the majority of their life as FWD cars and they engage the rear wheels with the engine when wheel slip is detected, unless of course you want to press the button called Diff' Lock, which does that on your demand. This is actually a very smart move, seriously, especially when if your going through a really large puddle you would otherwise get bogged in.

But for the love of god, turn it off when you get back on a paved road. Because when you are on a bendy, high-traction surface, like the average highway, believe it or not, all four wheels want to travel on slightly different paths. While the diff lock is on, this can't happen and then, if you're really lucky, the tires will scrub and you'll just wear them out a lot faster. But what will most likely happen is you're putting the weakest link in the drive train, whatever that may be, under immense stress. Sooner or later it will break, something will go bang, literally, your progress will come to a halt and you'll be towed to the service department and paying up to ten grand to fix the drivetrain.

#3--Driving in Too-Deep-of-Water.

This will cause your engine to suck in water, through the intake, which is at the top of the leading edge of the car. Air is compressible, but water ins't at all. And when water get's sucked into the combustion chamber, the piston slams into a tsunami and then a hydrolock occurs. This will turn your whole engine into scrap metal in a millisecond. The con rods will be bent, so will the valve stems, and don't get me started on the cost of a new engine. Always wade through the water on foot to make sure it's not higher than the bottom of the grill of your car first.

There you go. Feel free to leave your opinions.
