How to Make Homemade Soap, Shampoo, Conditioner, and Detergent

This is the most grandma mytake i'll ever make but i thought some people will like it. So i started making all my own soaps at home when i found out how much cheaper it is and i like being able to put in more natural ingredients that i know aren't harmful. So these are the ratios I use which can be adjusted if you like certain ingredients better or find certain ingredients to irritate your skin. With these mixes, always swirl the bottle before use to thoroughly mix the ingredients.

How to Make Homemade Soap, Shampoo, Conditioner, and Detergent

Hand soap/body wash

2/3 cup liquid castile soap (or any natural olive oil based soap)

1/4 cup raw honey

2 teaspoons oil olive or grapseed oil

1 teaspoon Vitamin E oil

50 – 60 drops essential oils, i use tea tree oil, peppermint, and sandlewood

1/4 cup steel cut oatmeal

Take 3 quarts of distilled water and bring it to a boil. Add your oats and boil for a few minutes then turn down the heat and let the solution just simmer for about an hour stirring regularly. While that is simmering add all the other ingredients into a foaming dispenser bottle. When the oat solution is done, filter it through cheese cloth or a coffee filter into your soap dispenser and its ready for use. As long as you don't use too much tea tree oil or peppermint, you shouldn't have to use lotion at all while using this soap daily the mix is very hydrating.

Shampoo

3 separate cups (distilled) Water

1 cup castile soap

1 tablespoon Baking Soda

1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar

2 teaspoons vitamin e oil

You shouldn't have to use conditioner often if you use this mix regularly. The apple cider vinegar is used to balance the ph of you hair which will make it much shinier and able to hold moisture better.

Conditioner

2 cups distilled water

1 cup Aloevera juice

1 Spoonful of baking soda

A small splash of tea tree oil

I only use this conditioner once ever week or two because it is a potent formula. Anything using a decent amount of tea tree oil should be used in moderation. Tea tree has awesome benefits if used in the right amounts but if used in excess can actually cause drying of the scalp and hair.

Laundry detergent

1 bar or 4.5 ounces of shaved bar soap/oil i.e. kirk's castile soap, Dr. Bronners, etc.

1 cup borax

1 cup washing soda

Mix all the ingredients thoroughly and store in dry/cool space. Use 1 tbsp for a small load or 2-3 for large or super loads
