My 2017 NFL Mock Draft

My first time trying this. Let's see how I do on Thursday night.

1. Cleveland Browns: Myles Garrett (DE Texas A&M)

Garrett is the obvious No.1 overall to me. Cleveland has a lot of needs, but they shouldn't pass up a great pass rusher in Garrett.

2. San Francisco 49ers: Jamal Adams (S LSU)

The niners have drastic needs on defense, but their secondary lacks the most. A playmaker at safety could be a big step in the right direction for them.

3. Chicago Bears: Solomon Thomas (DT Stanford)

The Bears had one of the worst run defenses in the NFL last season, and Thomas was a phenomenal run defender at Stanford. Not to mention he put up double disgust sacks and can help the weak Bears front 4 dial up some pressure.

4. Jacksonville Jaguars: Deshaun Watson (QB Clemson)

The jags new coaching staff as well as Tom Coughlin have been unwilling to commit to Bortles for the long term. I think the Jags take a chance on Watson, who is in my humble opinion the best QB of this class.

5. Tennessee Titans: Marshon Lattimore (CB Ohio St)

The first of two 1st rd. picks for the Titans. They use this pick to nab the best CB in the draft and hopefully solidify their secondary.

6. NY Jets: OJ Howard (TE Bama)

With Marshall going to the Giants and Eric Decker coming off a torn ACL, the Jets need weapons on offense, especially at TE. Howard is by far the best TE in the class.

7. LA Chargers: Jonathan Allen (DT Bama)

The Chargers need to address needs in their front 4 and their secondary, but the front 4 is in worse shape, and more vital to a team's success. Also, Allen is a top 5 talent. A steal at number 7.

8. Carolina Panthers: Leonard Fournette (HB LSU)

With Jonathan Stewart past his prime and no significant depth at RB, Fournette is a no-brainer here for the Panthers.

9. Cincinnati Bengals: Haason Reddick (ILB/OLB Temple)

Not the best LB in the draft (we'll get to that later), but he's a top-caliber talent at a vital position that the Bengals need a playmaker at.

10. Buffalo Bills: Derek Barnett (DE Tenn.)

The Bills have struggled to get pressure off the edge. Barnett should help with that.

11. New Orleans Saints: Jarrad Davis (ILB/OLB Florida)

Best pick for the Saints here. They are desperate for a talented linebacker, and Davis is the best available with Reddick gone at no. 9.

12. Cleveland Browns: Mitchell Trubisky (QB UNC)

The Browns will draft their 24th starter since 1999. I don't see franchise potential in him, but Cleveland does.

13. Arizona Cardinals: Taco Charlton (DE Michigan)

The Cards need an edge rusher to fill the void left by the departure of Calais Campbell. Charlton is the best available man.

14: Philadelphia Eagles: Mike Williams (WR Clemson)

The Eagles need to address needs at WR, as well as their secondary and D line. Philly drafts a WR in the first round for the second time in 3 years, snagging the best receiver in this class.

15: Indianapolis Colts: Takarist McKinley (LB UCLA)

The colts' pass rush is in dire straits. McKinley is the best pass rusher available.

16: Baltimore Ravens: Corey Davis (WR Western MI)

With the retirement of Steve Smith Sr., Baltimore needs a receiver to take the lead. Davis is the best available.

17. Washington Redskins: Malik McDowell (DT Michigan St.)

McDowell is the best chance to fill the void left by the departure of DT Chris Baker. The skins snap him up here in an attempt to keep their front 4 productive.

18. Tennessee Titans: John Ross (WR Washington)

The Titans have expressed interest in picking a CB and a WR in rd. 1. They got the draft's premiere corner, now they take the fastest man in the draft in Ross.

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Cam Robinson (LT Bama)

The Bucs got Jameis some weapons in free agency, in addition to Mike Evans. Now they just need to protect him. Robinson is the best LT in the draft.

20. Denver Broncos: Ryan Ramczyk (OT Wisconsin)

With the departure of Russell Okung in the offseason, a hole was left in an already struggling O line. Ramczyk is an attempt to beef up that line to give Trevor Simeon some help.

21. Detroit Lions: TJ Watt (LB Wisconsin)

The Lions (finally) released Deandre Levy, but have little to no talent at LB. They address that need here with Watt.

22. Miami Dolphins: Marlon Humphrey (CB Bama)

The Dolphins need help in their secondary after being shredded last season. Humphrey is the best corner available here.

23. New York Giants: Garrett Bolles (OT Utah)

3 prominent rd. 1 caliber tackles. The Giants snag the last of them to solidify Eli's protection.

24. Oakland Raiders: Kevin King (CB Washington)

The raiders don't have much at corner, so they take King to jump start their secondary.

25. Houston Texans: Deshone Kizer (QB Notre Dame)

The Texans need a QB, but are unwilling to trade to draft Watson. Kizer is the draft's number 2 QB after Watson in my opinion.

26. Seattle Seahawks: Forrest Lamp: (G Western Kentucky)

The first guard to go. Seattle needs to address its O line, and Lamp is the best guard available.

27. Kansas City Chiefs: Zach Cunningham (ILB Vanderbilt)

With the aging Derrick Johnson rehabbing a torn achilles, a highly talented inside linebacker makes sense for KC here, and Cunningham is the best available to suit that need.

28. Dallas Cowboys: Charles Harris (DE Mizzou)

It's no secret that the Dallas defense isn't one of the league's best. Harris is a steal at 28, and will hopefully beef up the Dallas pass rush.

29. Green Bay Packers: Dalvin Cook (HB Florida St.)

With a pathetic group of running backs, Green Bay chooses to nab Cook at 29 rather than address their needs in the secondary. Cook falling to 29 is unlikely, but such a talent this late in rd 1 would be nearly impossible for GB to resist.

30. Pittsburgh Steelers: Jabrill Peppers (LB/S/KR/PR Michigan)

Clearly a versatile player, Peppers and his speed and open field tackling would make a great addition to the Steelers secondary. A secondary that succeeded last year due in part to some young talent.

31. Atlanta Falcons: Malik Hooker (FS Ohio St)

Atlanta decides to beef up its secondary after surrendering 466 yards to TB12 in the Super Bowl. Likely gone before now, Hooker would be a dream come true for defense-oriented Dan Quinn.

32. New Orleans Saints: Quincy Wilson (CB Florida)

After taking a LB earlier, the Saints keep addressing the defense by beefing up their secondary with Wilson.
