Intuition Versus Instinct

Intuition Versus Instinct

Most of us think both carry the same meaning just different words, but actually it's almost impossible that you find two words with exactly the same meaning, I personally never encountered such two. So what exactly is each of intuition and instinct?

Well, both are motivators that well always be originated within us whenever there’s a response that should occur. Lets start with “Instinct” which is triggered when there's a need that should be fulfilled. For example, when you feel threatened, you would want to fulfill the need of security.

Intuition on the other hand is a sense of what you should do in a certain situation that suddenly occurred, the reason this sense existed is always a subconscious reason, based on memory and observation. For example, when you look at a person and guess his height.

So basically the difference between intuition and instinct is that intuition is originated by observation and experience while instinct is triggered by desire.

These two motivators are common with living creatures that have a brain. Both motivators work whenever we need to take a decision, sometimes they conflict other times they don't. The great news is that we have the mind that enables us to contemplate the situation and understand ourselves better in order to be able to take the best decision.

It's your duty as a human to use your mind; guide your intuition and control your instinct in order to take the absolute best decisions for yourself. It’s difficult to reach this level of self-awareness, it requires patience and striving for knowledge which needs a great deal of willpower to be achieved, but isn't that always the nature of the way to greatness?!

Hope that was enlightening, thanks for reading!
