Stop Chasing Money!

Today I will be talking about how moderate our view of money should be, and what my experience taught me.

Let's see what do you think about that, personally I am waiting to have enough money to start doing my own projects , and try to help people as much as i can, it is not just about the money it is like there is a passion inside me burning to do all that.

Money is important.

As humans we are always greedy, we never have enough and always want more, we want to be on top but can we really enjoy being on top? The importance of money changes with age it might be something like this:

Counting money since birth

1-5 years old: won't care about money, and actually would be willing to donate if they were asked to, they don't need it.

6-12 years old: They start caring a bit for it, because they need money to go buy candies and stuff to eat, but their top priority is their candy, they might share their money but not their candy xd.

13-18 years old: Now they start to feeling that they need to have money all the time, and they start purchasing clothing and other things than just food, they can spare a dime here and there, but they aren't responsible with their spending.

18-22 years old: Collage time, you need every dime you can get, it is the time for you to start feeling responsible, no one is going to buy anything for you now, so I doubt you would be able to think about others.

23--26 Years old: Your income is for your own, you will try to use every dime you get for your own sake, saving up ,buying stuff, and you always worry about achieving your financial goals or buying a car or something major. (I have been there, and now I am out).

Now in all of these stages of life, you need to know that money won't buy you happens after the age of 7. It can make others happy, and then you might be happy for making those who are dear to you happy too. I know that not everyone can spare a dime, but believe me i saw poor people who would spare their last dime just for others sake.

But money provides me with food, clothing, a roof, utilities, internet, comfort and tools to keep my room clean. And healthcare if I have enough of it.

I have no choice but to work and chase the money or else I'll relive my misery of the past again.

I don't even have a HOME!!! I have a shelter that I rent but I have no home.

You know, I agree with you on something: Money is worthless. However it provides us with the things we always crave before we die.

Money will always rule the world. Money will improve your life and people around you. Money will fulfill all your dreams. When all done right. I find most people just want "things". Now that is a waste of money and doesn't make you happy, but just a dumb show off. It all depends who has the money and how they choose to spend it. There's a right way to use money. Man my life would be worry free. And It would help me to improve myself. Who ever says other wise, is a fool lol.

To have a huge sum of money, to be able to go to your parents, and say "mom, dad, étiré right now ! You do not have to work ever again, il take care of you from now on". Would be such great feeling. And never have to worry about much ever again. But we can dream, right?

But , we should be happy with what we got, this is not you , this is 99% of people's dream.

Very true. Should be. But for me my social anxiety ruins my life quality. Would love to try fix that, and need extra money to do so lol. I'm not exactly chasing the money, but I do sure try to save a lot of money. And try to buy mostly things that are needed.

What if my life goals are to travel a lot (I've never been abroad, I'm broke), have a big beautiful house and try new things like parachute jump?
Should I stop chasing my dreams? Because chasing all of those things is basically the same as chasing money

I want to do all that you said and more, i have been abroad , and i have had done many things, still i have so much in line to do all needs money, but now I get my paycheck and it is gone, i don't really care as long as I can be happy and not care about spending my money on nothing.

The only thing on your list that requires chasing money is having a big house and even then it's doable without that much cash if your creative and smart about how you go about it.

There are plenty of people who travel non stop, all around the world without money, or very very little of it, same with new experiences.

@Jager66 You can't travel with no money. I don't know where are you from, but it's mostly people from america saying things like that because what is considered "no money" in their country would be rich in another.

Nah you can travel for free and experience the culture in the places you visit in a more authentic way then you likely ever will with lots of cash. It's not for everyone but plenty of people backpack and hitch hike and literally travel the globe for years at a time with almost no money, as in they work for peso's or what ever doing day jobs in the country they happen to be in if they need money for something. There are internet communities dedicated to this life style.

You can also go WOOFING, it's waaaaaaaay cheap, you work part time on a small family owned farm of some kind and in exchange you get free room and board. There are tens of thousands of farms to choose from in every place and country imaginable.

You can also buy a sail boat, used they are pretty cheap then you can easily sail the coconut belt with very little money, work seasonally for minimum wage is plenty, or even randomly for a few weeks at a time at a dock bar where English speakers are often paid under the table

Then there is the "life hacking method" some people will put effort into finding really good rewards credit cards and things of that nature. Then they live on a strict budget charging every single dollar they spend, rent, utilities everything, onto the card. They also look for strange deals like say maxing out your card buying coins from the mint at face value when they have a promo for bonus air miles then paying off the card with the coins they bought and getting a shit load of free points..

Plenty of people do this for a year or two at a time then travel for a year and repeat.

If you live in a big city, or expensive area, move to the country or some place with a cheap cost of living, then even if you work at minimum wage you will find that saving money isn't hard at all..

Some places wil even give you free land to build a house on it, or even UBER cheap land. Then there are tax tricks.. like where I live if you live in a house for a year you pay no taxes on it when you sell it because it;'s your primary residence. So some people buy land, then build the house them selves over the course of a year or so and then sell the house. After about 5 - 6 years they usually have enough money to own the next house the build debt free, but most people won't bother with the work required to do it, they would rather slave for 40 years to pay off a house.

@Jager66 I'm 16 yo. I have absolutely no skills in anything cause my parents don't let me get out of the flat. When I will be able to start working, which will be smth around 22-23, I will need to buy a place to live. In Poland it's near 10 years. So I will be 30 when I will have a place to live and I will have a debt.

I kinda dont agree. Home, car, medicines, taking care of your family, education, holidays... you need money for all of this.
Its wrong to make money your number 1 goal in life but you can't really stop chasing it ever. You need it like you need air in the end of the day. Sad reality

The key feature of money is that IT WILL MAKE OTHER PEOPLE DO SHIT FOR YOU. AKA power.

So discounting the importance of money seems a bit foolish. It should probably not be your primary goal, but money is influence, pure and simple.

The paradox is that the world works like this BECAUSE we all chase money. If everyone agreed that money was worthless, we would probably go back to bartering. Pretty soon, money would be reintroduced, because it is a practical technology.

The first way to reclaim your power is to ruthlessly prioritize your expenditure, which makes you much less reliant on money. At least that would be my take on it.

But Jordan is one of most poor countries in the world
I have worked in KSA for a couple of years so i am good with cash , but most of my friends are drowning in debt

Yeah, I could see that our GDP per capita here is more than 10 x that of Jordan. I hope prices are lower there! And good job for making money abroad. I really had no idea. I always pictured Jordan as one of the richer countries in the Middle East. I hope things look up for you guys. The Middle East seems so fascinating. I have visited Qatar twice, and have had layovers in Abu Dhabi.

Unfortunately, money is necessary to make a comfortable living. I don't think it should be the main focus though so I do agree with you.
