Why do people stare at me when I have colored hair?

Just a random question because some people stared at my blue hair

Perhaps because it wasn't a natural colour, like, they
weren't used to see blue hair? :3

There's also the possibility that they thought it
looked good or maybe weird, there's a lot of reasons
they could've looked.

It's not too uncommon to gets looks when you dye
your hair colours like that, I think. I have white/silver
hair myself, when most of the people here have black
or colours close to black. But I like the attention. ^.~

It's not like once you dye it your hair colour is going to be blue forever - it's not a tattoo. I've dyed and highlighted my hair with a variety of colours over the years and my natural dark brown hair started growing in again at the roots like 2-3 weeks later. In fact that is my natural hair in my avatar.

Pretty much the only time someone can dye their hair with an unconventional colour is the teenage or college age years.

Do you think everyone sees at least one person every day with blue hair? No they don't. People will stare at something that they don't normally see or consider strange. It's expected but if you don't like it, then dye your hair to a normal colour.

its more attention grabbing. when i used to dye my hair different colors id get way more comments and looks because of it. i didn't dye ALL of it.. a good portion but still. it brings more attention because its not a natural/typical hair color

Because it's an unusual colour to have. The only time you can dye your hair that colour without it looking weird is when you're in your teens and early 20's through college. After that, it doesn't work so well.

Make-up can make you look better at first but over time it ages you. Girls who use make-up a lot look 40 when they turn 30. People wonder why Asian girls still look 20 when they're 40, it's because they don't typically cake that stuff on their face every day. Make-up is made up of bat poop and a lot of other gross stuff.

Well I appreciate nonconformist as much as the next guy. I understood when I had blue hair as a teenager that I could expect stares and comments (received a lot of both). Yes there are socially accepted cultural norms. Fall within them no stares, challenge them and expect stares and comments. That's just the way it is.
