Do braces make you look younger?

So I've been told by some people that I look younger than my age, but otherwise I would be attractive. One person in specific told me once I get my braces off I'll look older.. Is this true? I'm getting them off in a week or two, and I know my teeth will look nicer, but if they make me look more mature then that would be great also.

As a guy interested in girls - no doubt it does. And honestly I find that kind of cute. Most guys find youth attractive, so it's not something to worry about, if you're a girl.

As a guy, though, it'll probably be a plus for you to get them off.

I went to the cinema and they asked to see ID to go into a 12. I'm 15. After I showed my student ID the woman said that she though that I was younger because of my braces. More than three years younger?

Ya lol, braces can be deceiving I guess. Difference is it is a good thing for girls to look younger, but isn't a good thing for guys.

Depends on the scenario. Eg not good if you're being hit on by really young guys that you're not attracted to or if guys your age don't want to date you because "you have a baby face"

I was going through an airport, and this one old security lady refused to believe I'm 16. She saw my ID, then seemed dazed and confused and interrogated me by asking me three more times :\ Other than her, most people think I look a few years younger, tops.

in western countries yes i think so.
in japan braces aren't common so it's not associated with a certain age group like it is in the west.
