In a way, men and women are equale. Obviously, we have different things that make the gender handsome or beautiful, like soft thin lines for women, and buffer more angular points for men. But, women are conditioned into believing makeup is needed ( like whenever you see a friend or yourself without makeup your surprised) and it's a shock to see people without it.
So basically, we just spend a bunch of money on crap they don't need to make us beautiful.
I dont' even understand this question at all. Men are not good looking at all. It is a wonder any woman is ever attracted to any man. but women are so incredibly beautiful. with or without makeup they are incredible. and lets look at the 2 naked... A naked woman it like art.. incredibly beautiful. most women don't even want to look at a guy naked. yuck. so it isn't even a close competition.
Face or body it is the same. men are not attractive at all. Women are gorgeous. even as they get older they are incredible. men start out ugly and get worse. we lose our hair, we get grey... yuck
The fact is that women have been told for a very long time that they need those enhancements in order to look good. They have been told this by the corporations that make said enhancements. the truth is that neither of the sexes are better or worse looking then the other. they simply have a different kind of beauty. AND BOTH ARE BEAUTIFUL!!
I think men are naturally better looking than women. Then again, women are told they are worth very little in society if they don't have beauty, so it's almost an obligation for us to try to be beautiful in some way if we want to get anywhere in life. Maybe subconsciously the standards for beauty are set much higher for women than they are for men in our minds.
I don't think that either sex is naturally "better looking" than the other, I really don't.
For better or worse women have been much more sexualized, and that typically leads to opinions that they're the superior sex when it comes to aesthetics, but again, I don't but it either.
If my partner finds that I get more attractive with age (as many women suggest that men do), then cool, and if not, no worries.
nah even alotta gay men have acknowledged that women's bodies are really attractive.
I think its because women put more effort into how they look and present themselves more than guys do. Guys can "bum it" far more often than women can because hey "he's a guy"
Strangely enough, I think that might well be the case. From a purely superficial perspective, a girl who's an 8 out of 10 will generally get more offers than a guy who's also an 8 out of 10 comparatively speaking. It therefore pays more in evolutionary terms for females to artificially enhance their attractiveness since they get better returns. While guys *may* be naturally prettier than girls, it doesn't affect us nearly as much since it won't increase our odds of reproducing as much.
I think it has everything to do with the societal pressures placed on women to apply makeup and do certain things to their body to achieve the upmost standard of beauty. Think about a world without makeup. We women wouldn't have this standard to live up to and the only form of beauty would be "natural" beauty. In that world, I think men and women would be equally beautiful.
I personally like them RAW! But not hairy ^_^. Make up, cosmetics and accesories are not needed, really these are just standards imposed by society and women themselves. I don't need you to sacrifice a good night by torturing yourself with hi-heels that hurt your feet, I don't do it why should you?
Men definitely age better. We all go through that gawky stage but as we get older the guys somehow almost get better looking. I don't know if it's related to childbirth. I heard it might be. Older woman pack on the make up and in some cases actually look worse. Any what is up with that awful perfume they seem to shower in after they turn 50.
No I think it's the opposite. I know where your coming from with the makeup, but women are seen as more feminine. And maybe not in this age but along time ago women never wore makeup. I think that some women wouldn't need makeup if they just took care of their skin and health.
More appreciative? Women work out to. And results don't come as easy for us as they do for men (hormones.. you know the deal) So men should be more appreciative to a woman for maintaining a nice body lol. A body that naturally stores more fat and water than a males body. A body that goes through hormonal changes every single month that make you feel like binging on food and snacks (many women will testify to this).. it's hard to keep everything looking tight all the time as a woman. And hormones unfortunately play a big part in that. We got the short end of the stick on this one LOL!
I understand what you are saying. I am just comparing makeup for girls to workouts for men. I don't think we need to compare. We need to respect our differences and appreciate each other.
We equally look better in my opinion. Being bisexual, it's easy to see that way for me.
Women have the standards of models in magazines and commercials to the point where make up is where we turn to to look good. Personally, I find natural beauty the best. Hell, the only reason I actually wear make-up is because my boyfriend hasn't seen me without it.
My friend Janette used to say that "When men get old they blossom, when women get old they get rotten!" Not saying all women are like this but there always seems to be a new lotion, creme or youth rejuvenation serum to make ladies look years younger just make up in general. Some women look their age some don't I think the same could be said of men, but with all these celebrities, it does make the silver lining look a bit grey and thin. Gotta get that botox! hahaha j/k
Each side has different tastes. What is "best" is defined by who we are trying to attract. If all women decided they were only attracted to men who wore makeup, high heels, and other things (as bizzare as that might sound), then men would most likely wear them.
As someone who is more easily attracted to guys, I have to say no. It's all in the societal beauty standards, and for about the past hundred years in the USA at least those have been set by corporations trying to sell massive amounts of products to women.
Or, is it possible that we have a warped scale of female beauty today, due to so much makeup and such?
Though you also have to keep in mind, those women that look stunning with a ton of makeup... how many of them are past their prime, like they're in their 30's? Or how many of them don't live a good lifestyle, like take care of themselves, eat right, don't drink?
Not if you ask me, voted B). It's just that more girls are brainwashed into believing that they're not attractive without paint on their faces. Look into KILLING US SOFTLY 4 if you want to know more about this issue.

axactly. stop using make up lol (sounds strange)
Totally agree
Men are naturally better looking than women because men have a lower objective attractiveness requirement than women.
Imagine a grad student whose homework counts for 10% of his grade, vs. a 4th grader whose homework counts for 60% of his grade.
If the grad student turns in none of the homework, he can theoretically still end up with a 90% as his grade, which is pretty good.
If the 4th grader does none of his homework, he fails.
The caveat is that 4th grade homework is fucking easy, and nearly everyone should be able to get a passing grade.

xD I'm not talking about bodies. I'm strictly talking about face.

men can and do put on makeup and it does make them look better but the majority of guys are less focused on their looks than the majority of women
for guys all you have to do to get anything and everything you want in life is to be successful
for girls if you have beauty you can have pretty much anything you want
nah

Men end up sweating out for hours in the gym to look fit.
It's more than just getting a suit that fits our body.
Also, developing a great physique isn't a one day thing. You have to drag your ass everyday to the gym, push your limits and stay motivated.
I believe that a woman needs to be psychological more appreciative to a man who makes the effort to work out and develop a physique.
