Do guys really get intimidated by girls who wear makeup?

Lol, I'll explain it better. Take my picture for an example. I will look like that when I go out, and I hardly ever get approached by guys, and when I go up and talk to guys, they are fine, but nothing really happens, like no exchanging of numbers or anything. My best friend Kevin has some guy friends, who don't really know me that well, but I added them on Facebook, and I jokingly said "Why don't you put a "like" to my pictures? I do it to yours all the time, haha."

 They said "Because you are full of yourself." I said "No, nowhere near that, what makes you think I am full of myself?" They said "You look expensive, high maintenance, and conceited. How the way you dress, and your makeup is done too." I was really shocked by that! Then my friend Kevin said "A lot of guys are intimidated by girls who wear makeup, and look the way you do." Is that true? Do I look like a stuck up, conceited bitch? I am nowhere near that! Do guys really get intimidated by girls who wear makeup? And supposedly "look the way I look"?

Some guys are but what I'm noticing now is that they really do feel the way those guys described. I do think that they said what they said because of your facebook remark. You were basically asking for attention with the "like my photos" comment. That comes off extremely narcissistic. So you basically had that harshness coming not because of the makeup but because of that remark. It screams "pay attention to me!"

Granted the photo is a face only I'd imagine you were probably not only wearing "expensive" clothes but possibly giving off vibes that would cause them to say what they said as well. These days, guys are much more attracted to a "t shirt and jeans" girl because they seem 100x more down to earth and don't feel the need to ask for "facebook likes" and all that stuff. Guys already see other guys lusting over girls who post cleavage pics on facebook so they're gonna pretty much think you want to get all that kinda attention. It's very off-putting. Guys don't want to date a girl who looks like she'd spend 80% of the date in a bathroom fixing up makeup and the other 20% of her date on the phone hoping for facebook "likes."

1. About your pic, you are astoundingly beautiful make up or w/o it and in this pic you are an absolute doll :-D
2. Yes guys (& even other girls) tend to get intimidated with girls who are confident, outgoing and outspoken (especially with that smiling face)
3. Make up and well done make up at that does give an edge to the intimidation
4. Hate comments or similar is a sign that if the person is your bf/gf or anywhere near that, then they are insecure and if acquaintances or 'friends' (I won't call them that lol) they are clearly jealous and ofcourse intimidated
5. Don't even zero in on anyone who is intimidated, they're not worth it

Here's the problem with men and makeup: what a lot of men don't realize is that the vast majority of women wear SOME kind of makeup every single day - even if it's just mascara or tinted moisturizer. The guys saying "you wear makeup, that is unattractive" don't know that probably 8 out of 10 girls have some sort of makeup on their face.

If YOU like the way you look with makeup on then honey you ROCK it! I wear a full face of makeup almost every day, not because I want to attract others, but because I enjoy wearing it and enjoy playing around with different colours!

Can we also talk about how those guys say you look conceited or rude or whatever because you're wearing makeup, when THEY'RE the ones completely judging you before they even talked to you? Hypocritical!

Don't worry about what guys think about makeup. Most of them have no idea what they are talking about when it comes to that. You look gorgeous in your picture!!

I'm gonna be honest here... what he meant was that girls who wear make-up almost everyday are fake.. now, think about it cuz girls look totally different with make-up on (most of the times)... and guys do prefer natural beauty than the fake one so... try not to be dependent very muuch on make-up.
I rarely wear make-up and I never do in my everyday life - not even to school- simply, 0 make-up on, and I feel great about myself and I look pretty without it so why ruin my face with make-up when I don't need to?
And it's really not good for ur face to get used to it cuz when u don't wear it, ur face is gonna look pale, like sth is wrong or like u didn't sleep well..
I've seen girls who wear make-up everyday to school without make-up and they look like zombies...

Insecure men will get "intimated" by it in my opinion, like the men who call a girl "high maintenance", i've never understood why they care if a girl is high maintenance or not, they don't have to do your hair, apply your make up or pay for any of it so it sounds like an insecurity to me lol.

I think some men just don't like too much make up on a girl is all, like black eyeliner and red lipstick together are a little much sometimes. Just do the eyeliner and a light lipstick or some lip gloss or red lipstick only with light eye make up. I love some black eye liner and red lipstick too but it's a little too much together.

I don't (anymore), but I know why it's intimidating. Guys usually see these women as very pretty or "hard to get" girls, so they're afraid of a major hit to their self esteem. For example, if a pretty lady that did well with makeup turned someone down, gave them a disgusted look or something similar, the guy will start to think he'll never be good enough for a woman like that. They haven't learned that makeup is just another form of expressing yourself, and that it doesn't define that you only want to attract the "top of the line" guys. I know because I've been there (like once haha) ;-).

That sounds really odd. I'm a makeup artist so I go out with false eyelashes and the lot.. and never have a problem getting numbers. Even with my usual heart on my face, but men just accept thats my style.

Rule is, if after a night out you wake up with foundation on your pillow.. you are wearing too much. Men just don't like to be able to see makeup sitting on your face but they love sexy smokey eye or eyeliner and glowing skin.

Otherwise, you are really pretty but there must be something you are doing, for example its not really cool asking someone why they don't like your pictures..

To some guys a lot of make-up tell them insecurity, high-maintenance, fake and etc. Their experience and hear say, and tv has made them back off because that's what their mind pick up. But ANY man who is not insecure would not generalize and go up to a girl, and know each are diff.

He doesn't like your pics because he knows your attractive and possibly know you get a lot like, and he doesn't want to be one of those guys to boost your ego and follow the crowd

I wouldn't say they're intimidated by the make up persay, probably the overall beauty of a girl can make a man feel like she's out of his league, but that's a matter of opinion. Make up mostly just highlights the attractive attributes of a girl to us guys, a better example to explain : a girl who might be overweight feels like a guy who has washboard abs and toned physique might think he's out of her league. Its the same thing either way.

Make up is fine and I can see how it's fun to put colours on your face and all BUT too much make up makes us feel your hiding something and it's not the real you that we're looking at.

No. The truth is some people just don't think you're attractive and the ones who dont approach you cuz they don't feel like it. What do you expect? I wouldn't say it's totally intimidation (although it can be or usually is), it can also be you don't look attractive (no offense) to the guy. A lot of guys actually dislike that amount of make up (but if that's what you do then go for it).
