How do I get my dad to stop smoking in the bathroom?

I have no choice but to live with my dad. He's a chain smoker and I hate it (and him too). Smoking is a disgusting habit and I hate everything about it. I once asked my dad to stop smoking in the house and he gave me a strong "I don't care - no," answer. At the least, I want him to stop smoking in the bathroom because I use the shower to get rid of the smell from my skin. People think I smoke because I always smell like it and it doesn't help my self esteem. The smoke collects on everything - the shower stall, the toilet, my toothbrush. And when I shower, the smoke on the walls are affected by the moisture and these disgusting, dark smoke droplets form.

So how do I get him to stop doing it in the bathroom? I'm willing to be as persistent as possible.

well honestly there isn't really much you can do, at least he has enough respect for you to smoke in the bathroom instead of just were ever, if he's paying the bills you really have no say about what he does in his house. I mean you can try to talk him into smoking outside or quiting but he ain't gonna do it unless he wants to.. you can't make any body do anything it has to be there own decision, have you tried explaining to him how much it really effects you I'm sure he'll think about it he is your dad.

I assume he pays for the house, your food, and the cigarettes. Clearly, he's kind of a jerk, so I don't think there is anything you can do.

One of the best odor removers is baking soda, maybe you could try using that.
