Or is this just something guys say? Does being really good at something naturally or being an intellectual really turn people on? or is it rather a turn off? from what I've noticed ( from the guys around me of course not every guy ) a lot of guys seem to dodge girls who are smarter than they are, or they just choose a more easier to deal with and talk to type of girl. I've also noticed many guys place importance on how the girl socializes and they place more importance on other things than intelligence. I've rarely seen any guys who go out of their way to date a girl who is smart , or maybe that's just the guys my age? I'd love everyone's opinion on this.

A woman who is smart or intelligent is such an unbelievably sexy thing I can’t even explain lol. It might just be me though. I wouldn’t care if my woman was smarter than me, but if she was smarter than me why would she be with me? Lmfao. Usually women secretly want the man to be a little more impressive than they are, just to feel more secure and protected I presume. It’s RARE to find a truly intelligent woman though. Most of these women probably do not go out much, definitely do not club, rave, drink, or party that often, if any at all.

Designing rockets involves a lot of complex math, making it successful project requires a lot of complex thinking and would make her a bit intimidating but again to an extent. Why? Because she can be the best mathematician in history and but not the best at everything. So this wouldn't affect me in the slightest, just a simple remark on my part.

Usually when they meet a not so smart woman they don’t respect her as much. They also don’t take her seriously, and wouldn’t consider her “wife” material.

I agree with you , but that wife material part is not necessarily true. You're right about the respecting her more part , but a lot of guys that I've met and observed seem to not care about the girl they're dating to be intelligent or so , even as a wife. I don't know if it's just a thing where I live but so many guys go after girls for their looks or femininity or confidence or so , mostly things like that. never seen someone say 'I dated that girl because she is intelligent' or if you ask them what they find attractive they don't place importance in intelligence as much as other traits.

Yeah I agree with that. Except guys who are intelligent but insecure about their intelligence. Those type of guys from what I've observed don't choose well.

First of all, it's actually very difficult to compare intelligence. You can't do that without a standardized test, usually an intelligence quotient examination. So, I have to jump to the conclusion that you meant guys aren't interested in more studious or better educated girls your age. There's probably some truth to that, but it's far from universal. Chances are there are plenty of educated and studious guys who are interested in the smart girls, but those girls are too busy pining over jocks and bad boys to notice. That was my experience in youth, and things haven't changed much in that regard.

Whether they are intelligent or not has nothing to do with looks, and everything to do with personality instead. Personality matters a lot but it doesn't make someone "sexy." Sexy is about physical attraction-- period. Whether or not you like them as a person, or are attracted to their *personality*-- intelligence matters a lot then.

Well I do get more intimidated, I'll admit, but i also think it is much more worth it. The few times it almost worked out were some of the best moments. And for the record I think that being harder to approach is a good thing sometimes, means you are smart enough to not take any shit.
