So... a follow up question. Since the begging of the year and I'm told I'm the French teacher's pet. (Aka the favourite or preferred student of a teacher) And... yeah I have to admit it: I hold her bags for her, open the door for her, buy stuff for her, erase the board for her, always do my homework, always calm, compliments her, tells her goodmorning, bye, I will miss you etc.. She does treat me specially too.. stays with me in break time to examplain to me, tells me I'm pretty knowledgeable, polite, gives me extra papers she doesn't give to the class, tells me to take pictures with her etc.. She is pretty classy, polite, kind, doesn't shout, doesn't punish... and the class abuses of this. I don't.
She's that kind of women that are too emotional and feminine, EX I said:"I'd really miss you when in vacations" She said:"aww thanks you! That's so sweet"
So... I'm not her pet out of nothingness, it's becasue the rest of the class are ***holes
Just nobody likes them because the teacher starts comparing everyone to that one favourite student, those are usually nerds who will not support the collective, if everyone decides to dich class for example it can't be that just one person goes, it ruins everything. The worst case that I have seen tho was different, our history teacher was really rude and generally a bad teacher, always graded subjectively and humiliated people for small mistakes out loud. Everyone hated her but there was this one guy who even despite hating her basically kissed her ass and agreed to everything she said, supporting her bs. I just hated his guts because he was so damn fake.
There's actually nothing wrong with it unless you're trying to get super high grades then everybody's going to know what you're up to, but be careful because if you do too much your friends are going to start teasing you about it but if you have a crush on your teacher I can completely understand so it's not such a bad thing after all
No such thing as a teacher's pet. It's just a slur used by lazy students who can't be bothered to make the same efforts and be obidient in class, like we're supposed to be.
@ronaldo75 Exactly what someone who was subpar in class one way or the other would say. Do your work properly, and do as the teacher tells you, and suddenly we're all teacher's pets.
@ronaldo75 I had a feeling you'd go off about how academically splendid you were. It is somehow the response of every single person when something is logically assumed. My point still stands.
Of course I'm going to brag about how I'm doing if you're going to pull the bullshit "yeah sounds like what a subpar student" would say. It's a cheap reactive comeback. In my Calculus class right where I'm doing great I'm getting good grades from studying alone because not only does my Professor for some reason hate the older students but she's also incredibly rude to male students and only goes over equations and re-explains things to a handful of kiss asses that laugh it up with her all day. Don't sit there and tell me only bad students complain about teacher's pets and favoritism - I've seen the shit since I was in grade school.
Welp, I've been told by my friends that I'm the Biology teacher's pet quite a lot of times. The only reason I could think of is that I'm one of the only students in class that volunteers to answer questions. Mostly because if I don't volunteer, then nobody else will answer. It would make her mad while making the class utterly boring and quiet. Plus, it helps me remember better.
I love it and hate it. The only reason I like about it is that the teacher is friendlier and compliments me, which is appreciated. Still, she expects me to answer correctly and explain it to the whole class which puts pressure on me now. Now I feel like I have to be the golden smartass prodigy student every time its Biology class. My classmates don't seem to mind because now they don't have to worry about answering questions they don't know. I screwed myself and now I have a slight resentment towards Biology.
And that's why it's unprofessional she is breaking down the teacher student relationship and allowing you to think it's more that will also in turn make the other kids resent her and act up more
I don't care about the other children... I mean yes she doesn't treat me like "just a student" However, my best friend's mom is her friend already. So that's how we already knew each other
And that's why she failed lol by definition she us a shit teacher taking revenge lol that's some petty shit at the end off the day you and your class are kids she is paid to teach no fail the class so what they are hard or bad teaching ain't easy if she can't do it don't that simple
She explains very well, I used to hate French all these years or at least think it's complicated and boring. This year, thanks to her I really liked French and my grades became way better.
Normally, people are supposed to be civilized, respectful etc.. but they insist on being assholes.
Kids have a right to be assholes this is the part off there life it's most acceptable and for them to change your teachers inability to find a way to get them engaged with the class shows her inexpirance or inability to deal with a troubled class
14 yo are not supposed to act like 8 yos... She punished a lot of them in the last few days (The year is over anyway) and she declined their punishments a lot of times before... she is professional. However they're not.. again they insist to disrespect those who are kind to them and respect those who are strict and punish them. Personally I'm the exact opposite, if a teacher is really rude I'd directly disrespect him or her even if this will get me in much trouble
Again if this has been a year event it shows her inability to gain control of the class at best a mediocre teacher but again good that you passed and now enjoy French
Thanks, I'm glad the year finally will come to an end since this was really a tiring year... and no, she controlled the class in the first term... but in the second term not much.. Anyways the only bad part about the vacations is that I'll really really miss her
