Oh man, I saw a reality show where, as a side story, some friends cured a guy of his cotton ball phobia by taking him to a hypnotherapist. Was fascinating.
I don't like high pitched noises, esp electronic. Plus, I have a weird ear problem from too many years of allergies, so vibrations like vacuum cleaner, fan, hairdryer... they often vibrate one ear drum which is super annoying. I like things peaceful. Except when I crank music.
I wish they'd do something similar to me, but I don't know if it will work because I'm not afraid of them, they just make me cringe.
I can relate! I get the same feeling with hair clippers or the sound of a bug flying next to my ear π
Wear headphones and Go to 2:57

π Oh, you think that's strange? I dare you to play an ASMR video then turn on autoplay.
I am scared.
Metal scratching on metal or plate. (While cooking or eating)
A feeling that makes me shiver is that of loose hair strands on my skin. Like when loose hairs are entangled in a sponge or similar situations and they come in contact with my fingers 🤢 I will throw away the sponge on the spot.
Perhaps the worst sound in the world to me is when someone sneezes, then sniffles and you can tell they need to blow their nose, but they refuse and then they keep sneezing. Even worse if they do that ridiculous achooEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE sound where they add an additional unnecessary sound to the end of their sneezes. Gross.
I hope anyone who reads this immediately starts to cringe:
Nails on a chalkboard
When a metal fork scrapes against a glass plate
When to plastic things make that terrible noise when rubbed together in a very tight space
When people slurp up their food
Thatβs all I can think of off the top of my head.
None of those make me cringe π but the metal fork thing may give me a headache because I have hyperacusis :')
Hyper-what-a?
Oh it's just when the ears are really sensitive to loud noise :')
Oh. That sounds like it sucks.
Yeah, I really need to go to the doctor but I just don't or some reason π
but I just don't for some reason π *

Nails on a chalkboard, and certain kinds of foam containers.
The styrofoam ones especially when the parents could never figure out how to open them and kept squeaking them for five minutes... ugh.
Oh yeahhhh, the foam containers get me too π
Ugh yess! Freezies I can't eat a freezie that urks me or listen to anyone eat a freezie!
Also I can't scratch other people's backs , my mom asked me to scratch her back and all the hairs on my arms stood up lol I don't know why I just hate it!
π Wow those are very unique!
I hate the sound that brushing my teeth makes inside my head. It drives me crazy, I have to turn the bathroom fan on and keep the tap running to drown the noise out whenever I brush my teeth.
I like to do something similar when I eat food. I hate the sound of it swishing around in my mouth, so I always eat where there's noise to drown it out.
The feeling of a certain cleaning rag after being washed 😫😫😫😫 it FEELS SO.. EEEEE it sticks behind my nails and is toooo dry 😫
There are many sounds I hate, donβt get me started 😂
Name those sounds!
People chewing food
Pen clicking
People playing with stuff in their pockets like money
Breathing (not always)
π What type of breathing makes you cringe?
All corporate music. They play it in every damn store. It puts me in bad mood and i have had to leave several stores and cart full of stuff or not eat
What about if you play music in headphones louder than their music?
Thank you. I have tried that. That does work but it is hard to eat out like that
Uhm I'm trying to think what I dont like and it's that cloth that has a light plastic coat they used to make things out of it more but it had a slight texture but also slick I hated how it felt folded over and rubbed together
-soft chicken and fish skin.
-pork belly fat
-there is a sound a old co worker used to make.. i can't describe it.

Nails on a chalkboard, that old fashioned alarm clock sound.
The alarm clock sounds almost gives me PTSD.
I canβt recall the fabric, but a couple of cushions my grandparents owned used to make me feel nauseous whenever I made touched or thought about touching them 😷
Yes... music that I can "hell metal" ( I can't even name the groups, but it sounds like what I'd expect hell to sound like ), anything by Nickelback, really high, squeaky female voices, and anytime Trump opens his mouth. That last one makes me ill. Fingernails on a chalk board doesn't bother me.
Not really texture wise. A few sounds usually the common nails on a chalkboard sound.
I have a friend who is pregnant at the moment and says since becoming pregnant she can't stop touching textures, she loves the feel of certain things... Odd 😂
I can't describe it but I had to use a pallet jack that screeched in a way that almost made me quit my job. And same to a song that kept repeating.
OMG yes, snot coming out of a kid's nose. and my girlfriend hates sidewalk chalk to the point where she almost vomits just thinking about it. weird huh, we all have our little quirks
Aluminum between my teeth. Chalk on the chalkboard. Unsharpened pencils on paper.
The sound of retching... it legit makes me want to cry or do the same
Plastic foam that comes in delivery boxes and the sound of a apple being bit into and chewed 😖
Screeching, chewing, that stirring sound of macaroni
The sharp sound effect of tendrils from plants, god its just horrible to listen to '_'
Omfg... VELVET! I Will freak the hell out and run as far away as possible
My daughter can't touch cotton balls or lint from the dryer.
Hitlary's voice. Maxine Waters' voice. Barry Soetoro's voice. Nancy Pelosi's voice.
My balls aren't made out of cotton.
Sound: Styrofoam rubbing together
Texture: Really dry paper towels
Gunfire in the streets, not as bad this year as last.
Chalk itself, not like... chalk board sound or whatever... just how chalk feels, especially board chalk and drawing with it
Yes, the sound of a mouse click upon a gag question sends a chill through my spine with a touch of cringe.
Styrofoam rubbing against Styrofoam. I swear I can feel that noise in my teeth. I hate it lol.
Cardboard scratching or paper it gets me everytime 😬
Sounds: alarm clock, phone ring, loud motorcycles ( we get it you're a fag we hear your toy), lawnmowers, Bernie Sanders
Textures: Gravel, anything sticky, wool
There is this one friend of the family - when that phone plays it's tune, I head for cover.
My wife has Trypophobia, she literally turns into a ball whenever she sees anything resembling it.
I got sensory sensitivity so the worst would be scratching.
scratching across a chalkboard with your fingernails xD sooo cringe.
Rubbing of paper on rough surface makes me crazy and nauseating.
Being a sound engineer, I canβt stand the sound speakers make when they feedback (loud screeching sound).
Oh yeah... that can get bad.
Metal scratching metal especially kitchen utensils.
Chalk I can't STAND THE FEEL OF THE STICK LET ALONE THE SCRAPING ON THE BOARD!!
Nails down a chalk board, the feel of talcum powder. Very fine dust on a smooth glazes surface.
The sound of finger nails scratching against plastic/nylon fabric.
People practicing music instruments.
π What? How!
Actually i am talking about people who just started practicing. It's just cringy listening to them when they keep repeating a section again and again
Everybody does that no matter what level! π
Still cringy
