Why some people can't accept when you block them?

Question

This is something I don't, and I'll never understand.
If you get blocked, just move on and get over it. I don't understand why some people, in my case especially women, get so salty when I ignore them and/or block them. Or they block me when I make it clear I have no interest in having discussion or talking to them.
Has this ever happened to you?

For some people I was glad they saved me the trouble of blocking them first because of the bs I had to read from them..
Some people just can't handle rejection, and usually they are overreacting because they feel like they are right and you are wrong. As if you've signed a contract or something that makes you obliged to listen to them. 🙄

They feel entitled to be heard by you, and don’t think you censoring them is appropriate. Plus it makes it a bit harder to harass you, as they’d have to make a whole new account just to do it.

My problem with the old blocking was that you might not know, spend ten minutes or more writing a great response, go to post it and THEN be told you can't post because you are blocked. Since they changed it so I can't see the posts of those who have blocked me I don't care anymore.

Because for some stupid reason those people's questions still show up in your feed. Sometimes they are good questions and you answer, not remembering or realizing that you were blocked from that person.

I've only blocked 3-4 people the entire time I've been here. Yet I know people who've been here months who have blocked a ton a people. Its childish and annoying.

Wait, is this about G@Gers blogging people or in real life? Cause that shit is annoying, especially for people that want answers. I only block people after they have grown too toxic and have lost all respect or trust for them.

I've had similar situations a few times.
There have been some total psycho's on here who have registered for multiple accounts just to threaten me with their leet hacking skills or dad who works at nintendo. I really can't tell if they realise how obviously empty their threats are when the reason they were blocked was usually for being remarkably dense in the first place - as if I'm going to believe they could actually follow through with any of their BS.

It’s because if and when you hurt someone, they want to make it clear how you made them feel. They want you to understand that you can’t and shouldn’t run away from situations that you possibly caused. Running away from situations like that shows a lack of responsibility. Regardless of how annoying talking about problems are... and or how much you don’t care about talking to the person anymore... it’s both of your responsibility to end the relationship properly. I’m not saying be on good terms. I’m just saying the least you can do is hear them out and allow them to vent. Especially if it’s all your fault.

It's that feeling of rejection. If that person was respectful then there wouldn't be a need to block. If I get blocked, I don't care because I know what I am and it's their loss!

Depends on the circumstances, people tend to block me if they don't like their opinion being debated. It doesn't really bother me if they do block me, actually tends to kind of confirm that they don't have a valid point otherwise they would put that forward. Others don't like it I guess they don't like people taking the easy out? or they need the closure? I dunno I don't get it.

Well, I am not sure how many people have blocked me. However, I don't care about that as well. I have blocked only 1 person so far as I almost never block anyone unless I have a strong and justifiable reason to do so for eg stalking, harassing through PMs etc.

Some people have a problem in understanding and accepting even basic things. They just lack that intelligence that's all. Best to ignore such people.

There was one person. Didn't seem to understand how hypocritical they were. I made a sarcastic comment to someone i had conversed with over
months on the same topic, this 3rd party accused me of being a bully and when i tried to converse with them they sent all manner of expletives, and wished me dead.
Some people just dont know how to have a constructive exchange of ideas

I don't mind being blocked and I also partake in blocking people.

I think the main issue is whether or not you had some closure before getting to that point of feeling the need to block someone. If you block someone without any reason as to why or is going to seem outta the blue for that person, then you're denying them closure.

Not that they deserve it, but it might be one of the reasons they'd linger.

One thing i've noticed is the people that block me tend to block many others. And if they have trouble getting along with so many others it's pretty clear where the problem lies. I take it for what it is and move on with my life. No sense letting them bring you down.

Well, my impression is that it's usually the people who are doing the blocking that don't understand. Not realizing how deeply social we are as a species, people don't understand that blocking someone to then ask why they aren't or can't get over it, is like twisting their arm and asking why they writhe in pain.

I'm with you on this, I don't care about being blocked and I'll block anyone I want for whatever reason I feel like. It's meaningless. There is no right to be heard in the private dealings between people. Suck it up and move on.

Doesn't bother me too much. Lot's of guys on here have blocked me without us ever having talked. I'm always a bit disappointed when someone I like blocks me, but I get over it pretty quick.

Occasionally I'm just slightly surprised... But some peeps can't handle me i guess.

Yeah, a few times. There was a boy that at the begging seemed cute and fine, but the more we talked and the more he was obsessed, I blocked him but he create new account to contact me but I block all account and after a while I stopped to write me

Well i blocked two chicks at school because they were toxic and they were upset about i think because in my case they wanted to be pretend friends so they can still spy and gossip also i think some people just hate being hated by other people.

I don't think you realize how much you hurt those girls by dismissing and blocking them, especially because from what I see they are trying to help you.

In my experience you get blocked because someone doesn’t agree with you, usually after providing evidence of your point of view. Called cancel culture.
