If I were to make any generalizations, it would be that men are more aggressive and women more defensive.
Insurance rates show that women pay less. Presumably because they get in fewer, less expensive accidents.
On the flip side, I believe that being aggressive tests and challenges your skill and causes you to learn at a higher level, faster. But you are also going to make more mistakes.
To compare it to something else like say rock climbing, we could say the more aggressive climbers get better, faster. But the less aggressive climbers get hurt less. But they also don't climb as high or as difficult routes, or have the same proficiency.
My personal observations are that I do not see many females testing the limits of what their vehicles can do, but I have often seen it from males. I personally know some drivers who can do incredible things with vehicles, and none of them are female. But also those incredible drivers have had a variety of accidents as well.
So, what do you mean by "better"?
Women are safer.
Men are more proficient.
Not to say there are not proficient women or safe men.

I think it depends on the person and what you think constitutes as a "bad" or "good" driver. Men get into more accidents and make riskier decisions while driving. But if you think about having control over the vehicle and making snap decisions that could save your life, I can see men potentially being better at that. It seems like men drive a bit more confidently in that sense, even though that confidence could get them killed when making risky decisions. So in that sense it doesn't matter how much control you have over the vehicle, if you're still going to make the decision that will get you in an accident regardless.
Personally, I prefer my mom's driving over my dad's. She's such a calm driver. My dad is a better driver in a technical sense (really good at parking and his control over the car is impeccable), but he has a tendency to make risky decisions, speed, and bend the rules. It's like he's always in a hurry. Always wanting to pass the car in front of him even if they're going at the right speed, and even if it means getting a little bit too close to the cars coming towards us in the lane we're passing in. His driving just makes me uncomfortable, I don't care if it means we arrive at the destination 10 minutes faster. I'd rather be calm for 10 more minutes than feel anxious over how fast my dad is going.
Women are better drivers by far. Even have lower insurance rates since they are less likely to cause a accident.
Men have better reflexes and self control in situations the require quick thinking (to avoid an accident). Women tend to panic and freeze up. I knew one girl who got in an accident because instead of swerving the wheel she screamed and covered her face up.
HOWEVER men can be much more aggressive behind the wheel. They speed more and weave between lanes without using a turn signal. That’s why we get in more dangerous accidents. We take stupid risks
Overall I was a very careful driver. But it was sexist bullshit I had to pay outrageous car insurance premiums when I was 16 to 24 just because I have a dick between my legs.

What the heck does Asexuality have to do with this poll?
The definition of asexuality is:
"The lack of sexual attraction to others, or low or absent interest in or desire for sexual activity".
You got to explain in simple words that everyone can understand how an asexual oriented person is a better or worse driver. Sexual orientation has strictly nothing to do with gender. Those are two totally different issues that you cannot integrate in such a question.I know its kind of a boring answer, but it genuinely depends on the driver.
There are a few general differences between men and women drivers though, I think. What I will say, speaking with myself included, is that women tend to be more nervous drivers or cautious. Perhaps meaning we aren't as smooth or confident on the road (of course maybe the lack of confidence comes from being told we can't drive all the time too...).
Men are more confident, I think, and as a result they tend to drive better technically speaking. However, as a side note, I think with that confidence comes more danger. For example, young new male drivers are notorious for over-confidence and dangerous driving. Also, sorry to say I've seen a lot more stupid road behaviour from men also.Depends.
Hell I've seen a lady trucker turn her semi in a tight spot with no problem. And one time i was going down a road (speed limit 45) and some dumbass stuck at the side of the road at the bottom of a hill opened the door in front of me and got out, as i was about to pass. I had to quickly squeeze tightly between her and another car on the other side going by. In the dark. Now THAT was some measurement lol
But there are guys that know their shit too. My dad is an example with his van, doing perfect tight u-turns when he's had to and times of avoiding dumb georgia drivers.
Geniuses and dumbasses are both men and women lol. The bad ones were failed to be taught right.I just started driving and so far I've backed into a curb, almost blew through a stop sign, hit the gas instead of brake while turning, and almost hit a parked car... While I'm shit I don't think gender plays a huge role in it, maybe women tend to be safer drivers tho? Just an observation of others.
It has nothing to do with sex. Most of the time, it has to do with amount of driving experience. Majority of women drive less than men. Just think back to your parents: when driving to a destination far away, who did majority of driving? That said, a 40yo female will probably have the same amount of driving as a 30yo male and so will be as good a driver.
My wife of 20 years is as safe on the road as me, having beed driving as much as me over the years. We have different driving styles but I would not consider myself a better driver.Statistically, men are more prone to drive recklessly, aggressively, speed, less prone to wear seatbelts & are more often to be found intoxicated and/or distracted behind the wheel. That's why insurance rates for men are typically higher than that of women of the same age with some insurance companies charging over 10% more for a teenaged boy than they would for a teenaged girl. Stats don't lie.
.It all depends on the person, I believe there are good and bad drivers, in each gender but I do believe there are Hotheads who get behind a wheel and do not care what speed they go that is why there are so many people who lose their life's, My cousins best friend was with his girlfriend and they were coming home, this car smashed right into the girlfriend's side of the car, she died instantly, while he was still alive and was transferred to Pittsburgh PA Hospital and lived all day on life support and passed away around 4:00 p. m. yes so sad, some people just don't know how to drive?
it all depends on who drives. I know men who drive like shit too.
the deal is I think women don't have that much of an urge to take too much pride in driving better. usually the better drivers also play racing simulators and learn a lot about cars through them.
since I work on my car, play racing sims and have a good feel for what's going on below the hood I consider myself a good driver and would say a woman with interest for the technical side of things is highly likely to be a decent driver.
P. s. "you lost because you granny shifted, not double clutched like you should"I think comparing genders with things like driving shouldn’t be done because both genders are both really intelligent and good at certain things. Good male and female drivers are individualized and shouldn’t be compared necessarily. Each person is different. There may be a female that is better than a male at driving depending on those two people you’re comparing. But as an overall statistic, it’s hard to say that one gender s better than the other for this.
I think it depends - I know a PhD student who makes his wife do all the driving cause he has poor hand eye coordination // I know a hedge fund director who makes his wife drive cause he’s terrible at it // I know a doctor who makes his wife drive cause he’s terrible at it // I know an Ivy League graduate who failed his driving test 10 times because he had poor hand eye coordination - his iq was in the 99.999th percentile
Men are far more likley to drag race, g ett road rage and speed. It's why male insurance isn't more higher. Also, men are way more prone to be necklace in their younger years and drive recklessly as a result.
While women can be bad drivers, we are more likley to drive more offensively and because women are more likely to be driving with children, we drive slowerMeh, i dont think it really matters the gender, I've been in cars with terrible woman drivers and men!!
And great for both as well, its hard to choose, i think it all comes down to experiences and reactions to situations 🤷♀️
However i was always told the saying, "woman drivers no survivors" 😂😂😂😂
Which i thinks a bit funny (not offended female by the way)Not necessarily. I’m a tiny woman that drives trucks and sports cars. I even wanted to be a stunt driver at one point in my life. I’m the girl most of my guy friends trust to drive their cars. I guess because I do cool stuff and less likely to crash while doing so.
It depends on the person. I've seen horrific drivers of both sexes, as well as great ones.
Driving is really one of those things that is mostly common sense. Of course, everyone makes mistakes no matter who they are, but those that tend to make them constantly and the same ones over and over again tend to be the ones who lack common sense the most, or are completely distracted on their phones (something that really pisses me off!!!).Women are scientifically better at multitasking and have better control over their temper.
I don't care all my parents are good drivers well I never really met a sh*tty driver except the women that almost ran us of while at the green traffic lights while flipping us off for some reason not that she was bad at driving she was just an a**hole haven't met a bad driver I don't drive I'm not old enough to do that
Men are more likely to drive dangerously, such as speeding and swerving in and out of lanes, but women tend to be more distracted when driving. Eg. Phones, makeup, how they look in the mirror, etc...
It depends on how you view it. If take average men and women and put them on a track the men would most likely win, and thus be better drivers, but if you compare accidents stats women are better drivers.According to science, yes, men are better drivers.
I've had women bitch their heads off at me acting like I was in their way. Last week for example I had a woman shoot through a red light and I had the right of way with a green light and she yells at me acting like I was in her way when I was trying to make a left turn. And a week before that I had another yell at me when I was trying to get out of my parking spot even though she practically blocked me in with her car and wouldn't move until I had to come so close to her car with mine she was forced to move only for her to bitch and yell at me. I also had another who shot through a stop sign a week before that parking spot incident and yell at me and curse me out even though I was at a full stop at a stop sign.
More men can drive a stick shift than a woman.
I can, can you?
