Serious question, how did it feel and what happened? In all my years of partying and talking back to people I've never been punched.

You wanna know what? I just remembered that I did get punched by this guy when I was drunk at a party one time. I doubt I felt anything. Another time my friend accidentally hit me in the face and I clapped his head between my hands. He was more hurt than I was. I guess the moral of the story is that alcohol makes you invincible?😅
Yeah, actually multiple times outnumbered by a gang as the worst-case at the school bus. It didn't really hurt until much after. I only really felt my neck turning. People kept asking me if I was all right after and maybe because I got the adrenaline pumping, I only felt the slightest throbbing. But afterward, it did suck. I was in pain when I got home for days after.
I got the stiff jaw though. Wild haymaker after haymaker after haymaker to the face from five people and I could still smile. Might have only been the adreline. I'm good at pumping it up. At home some hours later though, I was curled up in a fetal position with ice to my face.
* adrenaline. I got into this stupid fight with a boy at school while we were playing baseball. I was talking about this video game I was playing and he told me to STFU out of the blue. So I didn't and continued and he got really pissed, and we fought and I accidentally hurt them. Then he round up the gang when I was leaving to go home the next day at the school bus -- and I was in middle school and besides him, all high school guys much bigger than me. Took punch after punch to the face. But I didn't really think it was so bad. I was sponsored vert skater so I am used to taking big hits on vert ramps -- fall twenty feet to my body. A human punch from someone of any size feels small in comparison.
I'm sorry to hear that. I guess What do remember wiping out and hitting my face on a tree stump and another time that I hit my head on the windshield of my truck when I was in an accident. I didn't really feel either because lime you said, the adrenaline kicks in. Thanks for sharing. Did they break your nose at all?
I got my nose broken from another incident but not that incident. They went straight to the jaw, thankfully. Blows to the nose do mess me up more than jaw. Blood gushes out and it makes me all dizzy. Strong jaw, weak nose. :-D
They weren't disciplined fighters. I'm not either but all their swings were wild, like swings from hip to my face. So all side punches to the jaw. No disciplined straight punch or anything like that Just felt like being hit by something blunt to the side of the face.
Wow, thankfully they missed that. I hear it's super easy to break a person's nose. Thankfully you made it out without getting kicked in the head or something.
Not nearly as painful as you might imagine if it's a side punch like that. And I'm not being a badass. I still hurt. I can turn baby. But in the heat of the moment, and with swings like that, you don't really feel it much. You don't feel the knuckles. It feels more like getting hit by a plank. It feels flat. And very blunt. Not sharp at all. And so the pain is very dull, more like just rapid movement of your head and it sort of spins you and makes you alert.
I did get a terrible beating one time... much worse than what I talked about, and not a middle school playground. I was dealing with real killers and I was the victim of an execution. They knocked me down on the ground and the worst pain was actually in my hands. Their kicks were vicious and they spanned my fingers while trying to block along with my right arm. Then my arm and fingers broke and they kept kicking and I couldn't block anymore so they got my head, concussion, ribs -- fractured, face -- teeth missing, legs -- fractured femur. I never felt anything vicious like that before. Whatever brawls I got into in the past were like child's play. I spent months in hospital after that.
My body recovered but my brain never did. I always feel like something is sort of broke with my brain now, and that was over 10 years ago. My ability to gather thoughts and feel things has never been quite the same since. Thankfully police arrived and saved the day. I was trying to rescue this couple form the beating and just ended up being the center of it instead.
Oh no, that's terrible! I feel for you. My dad got ganged up on and beaten terribly when he was younger. He used to wake up to nightmares and even kicked out the window one time. It's traumatic and I'm really sorry you went through that. It's a remember that fighting is no joke and some guys have no problem ganging up on one and trying to kill him. Scary.
I think I'm all right, relatively speaking. :-D But I do feel sometimes like I can't reach my brain ever since that incident. I don't know how to explain it. It's almost like it split my personality in two. Like I'm trying to "swim" to the real me. Well, it's weird. Try not to take heavy blows to the head anyway! It can really mess things up. We can't necessarily tough it out when it fucks up the brain.
Quite a few times, haha. It’s not the worst thing in the world, haha, a lot scarier of a concept before it happens. I mean, I wouldn’t want to take a clean one with my hands in my pockets, but in the frenzy of a scuffle it’s not a big thing unless the hit you real good and wobble you. Try not to get hit in the nose, the eyes, the teeth, and keep your jaw tight so you don’t go nuh-night, haha
I practice martial arts, so that's where I've been punched. I've never been involved in a fist fight outside of my club - I've either left before it became physical or de-escalated the situation.
We wore pads when I got punched, but in the two instances I've had the worst contact it didn't really matter.
First time, I managed to pull back from a way-too-high kick but the gal managed to catch my lip. It snapped back against my mouth guard loud enough for people to think she took out a tooth. Fortunately, I was okay.
The other time was sparring with my teacher. He's old but hella fast. Knocked my glasses right off my face - and I was completely shook. Because he was very controlled and I knew he could've clocked me the fuck out if he wanted. I didn't stop shaking for a good few minutes.
I've gotten hit harder not on my face. Gotten several solid kicks in the gut and a few good bruises to my legs/arms from blocked hits.
It hurts only slightly at first, but I always find I'm in more pain the next day.
Yes been hit lots. My brother was quite a bit older and loved to beat me up. Then I was picked on at school. I took martial arts and learned to take a punch as well as deliver them. Kenpo, Muay Thai, or my favorite Krav Maga will really help you. I’ve studied all of the above and each have their place and usefulness.
like others said, sometimes they really hurt, stun you, and most of time you don’t feel it all. Just don’t take one so bad that the lights go out. For me, I get hit I hear a little pop, no feeling but my vision narrows and the world goes dark. that’s only happened 2x but in an alley fight that can be really bad news. I learned to stop dropping my left and not leave my blind side exposed.
Learning to hit properly will really help you. Punching the face like on tv is a good way to break your hand/wrist. People really worry too much about the pain. Black eyes are no fun, broken noses (with the raccoon eyes are embarrassing), but I think broken jaws and/or knocked out teeth are the worst. I’ve had all of the above. But being able to take one and knowing what you can take builds confidence. And like mick in rocky I think broken noses look better.
Yeah, multiple times but not in a long while. As for what it felt like, well, it felt like when you get punched in any other part of your body, but in the face. Getting punched in the nose is worse as your eyes immediatley water and its a sharp pain. Getting hit in the eye also sucks because its soft and squishy (its hard to describe but also not great. Plus it swells up and you can't see out of that eye for awhile).
In my experience getting clocked in the jaw is the least painful place to get hit but you have to be careful of were in the jaw you get hit (their are two places one right behind the jaw and near the tip of the jaw, that if hit can knock you out). But yeah, its not that bad.
Thanks. I've always been more of a lover than a fighter, but I have been in a few bad situations in bars and at parties. Miraculously I haven't been in any serious fights. I've had lots of injuries in sports and working, I even broke my ribs, but never had to punch anyone. If I did get hit I was too drunk to realize it. 🤔 I appreciate the tips, I'll try not to get knocked out or hit at all if confronted. I'm in shape, but In don't train to be able to punch hard and fast. I train to fuck women. 😅
Well, I don't necessarily train for it, I just had a fucked up child hood that led to a fucked up adolecents and a mildly fucked up young adult hood. If you do get in a fight, try to avoid it because if you get knocked out your head is hitting the ground hard and that is whats going to do the most damage (could put you into a coma or worse), especially if your on concrete (so always protect your head, the body is more durable then the skull (it only takes 520 pounds of pressure to fracture the human skull and while a punch generally doesn't generate that amount of force, a kick can (and so can falling head first on concrete)). I generally try to avoid fighting, its not worth it (its personal ego nothing more), but some times life throws shit at you so its better to be prepared then caught unaware.
That's true. It sucks that you had to go through all that. I actually fear myself most. I feel like I'm a very loving guy but there's a polar opposite to that where if I ever did get angry enough I would likely attack somebody with an axe or something. 😅 I am very passionate and couldn't see myself fighting fair, but rather ending up in prison for beheading somebody or something. I grew up with a father that hunted and had me filleting fish at a young age and I feel like it wouldn't bother me. That's scary. I justified avoid losing my temper and just go dance with women instead.
Thats why I don't fight anymore, I was never afraid of what would happen to me (been stabbed in the head, starved, etc. kind of hard to be afraid of whats going to happen to you in a fight after all of that shit), its always been fear of what I would do to some one else. When I was younger I was a berserker, I would have grey outs were everything would just get blurry and grey and then the next thing I would know I would be dragged away by a teacher for attacking literally any one within arms reach (and apparently bit some one who put a hand on my shoulder to clam me down while I was beating on some one.). Not exactly a pleasent feeling losing complete control like that (especially when you realize that you go after any one even people who don't deserve it)).
That said one has to be aware of the darkness in them to overcome it. Only then can you be fully "actualized", because now you know whether or not your a coward, you know exactly what your capable of and what can trigger it. Thats why mobs exist, most people don't do things because they are afraid they would get caught but within a group which gives them cover suddenly that darker side comes out and it surprises even them. By being aware of it you can be in control of it and make sure that doesn't happen.
Yup, martial arts classes and actual fights cause that to happen. It honestly varies on two factors in my cases. People who have pulled punches or adrenaline/intoxication. Some hurt and stun you, some you just know you have been hit but it doesn't register and you don't recognize the pain until the adrenaline wears off, then unless you broke something it is just a sore or light pain with swelling.
Yes it was on my cheekbone, near my nose (thank god it wasn't my nose). At first i felt nothing because of that adrenaline running in my body. After the fight was over, i realised that my nose was bleeding because of the impact, few hours later i started feeling the pain which wasn't like a lot tbh. It stayed for a few days only.
I grew up in a tough neighborhood and I have a big mouth, so yes, I have been in a lot of fights and certainly have been punched in the face. It can be jarring but you have to punch back. I used to never stop punching once in a fight. As I got older I had more finesse.
Yes. I was referred to as a “snap case” by one guys friends after we went outside at a party. I had a black eye from that because one of his friends help me down after he saw the beating I was giving the guy. Then the guy gave me a cheap shot.
Well I had older brothers so yeah I've been punched and I've taken basketballs to the face... it hurts deffinatly but it's an assault on your faculties. For a second I can't see I can't tell up from down, if you get hit in the nose it has a smell, metallic almost and tour face tingles after lmao.

Yes but I won the fist fight. We were both only 7-8 year-olds and at the time, the girl can be bigger and stronger than the boy. The teacher had to get me away from destroying him.
If you mean getting punched in the face by either a strong teen or grown-up, nope.
Not as bad as ou may think, It doesn't hurt, but of course it depends where you get punched. And there's the adrenaline rush that comes with it. You might be okay during the fight, but after you suddenly realize that you're bleeding, you'll feel it more after the fact, next day. If you get hit in the nose though, you'll feel 'dizzy', it stuns you.

I am white and a member of the Aryan Brotherhood. Three gang members from a mexican gang came in and i ended up stabbed in the chest with what looked like a railroad spike and i managed to get soap in the eyes of two of them and although i got stabbed and beat near to death, i managed to do enough damage to get them to run off.
The worst part was pulling the spike from my chest and not being able to breathe. Sucking chest wounds hurt. The punches were nothing compared to that.
Getting punched in the face is nothing. I fight smiling clenching my jaw so my teeth dont get knocked out. Plus the smile on your face walking into a potentially deadly situation can be intimidating.
Once. My eyebrow needed stitching. But the 'pain' was surprisingly low and ... manageable. What happened: A guy had harrassed my (then) wife and I broke his nose. He punched back.
I got attacked before.. took multiple full force punches to the head... Turned out I'm tough, i didn't pass out or feel much pain... But I got bumps after a few hours
Not since I was about 12 I used to fight all the time as a kid. I think every boy should be punched in the face at least once it teaches you to stick up for yourself and learn what you can and can't say.
punches on the face, never, but i've been on fights b4, got kicked in the nuts b4, and i smashed a guys head on the flor when younger, fortunately, there was a rubber scratchy rug beneath
I have. It was by some skinny dude flailing his arms in a mosh pit so I have been sort of uppercutted if that counts. It mainly just caught me off guard rather than it being painful.
I have 7 knocked off teeth, broken jaw, 6 times broken nose, 4 times broken eyebrow.

Yes I have. Afterwards I punched the guy right back in the face. I got hit in the eye and I just remember seeing stars in the eyes and double vision lol. It was a school fight I’m not even sure how it started
Yeah I'm starting to remember more times that I was actually punched or otber times hit in the face playing sports or working. The feeling was insignificant enough that I forgot. It may depend how big the person is that hits you though.
Oh no, that's terrible! My ex threw a picture frame when she was drunk and it head me in the head and she used to push me and try to get me to hit her, she knew I never would. I'm sorry you had to experience being hit by a man. I hope you're out of that abusive situation and safe now.
Oh no, I'm surprised by how many women here have been punched by men. My ex was a very temperamental woman and no matter how bad our arguments got or how much she pushed me I never touched her. I would just leave and go for a drive to cool off. I'm sorry to hear that you that you had a bad encounter with your male friend. I hope you're safe and he learned not to punch women unless seriously she's attacking you or something.
