When I was a teen I had TBI that left me in a coma for a month and half. The doctors told my parents that there was a very slim chance I would survive and even it I was lucky enough to I would most like be a vegetable. Cold blue was called 3 times on me and had to be brought back to life. The point is the doctor wanted my parents to give them permission distribution my organs with a no not resuscitate order. My mother said no and I lived it took me along time to learn to walk talk and etc, but for the most parts I normal (well almost). I did married a perfect wife, have a perfect daughter, perfect dog (ok not perfect, but in my eyes).
What would have happened to me if my mother would have said yes?
Damn I would be in someone else’s bodies.
Please do not make fun of my writing style, it took me a while to text this. I’m smart but my brain has a problem with crossed signals.
So see sometimes a donation is a bad thing, other times it is a life saver.
So maybe I’m rambling on, but life is just plain weird
They start taking them before your truly dead... you might being having a near death experience and could still come back.
At the same time, I witnessed this first hand with a relative. If someone is not a organ donor and they are NOT going to survive they can give them more pain meds, that would damage organs... but make their passing less painful.
If they are a donor they drastically limit pain meds to avoid 'damaging' the goods that will be harvested... thus making it more painful.
1.) I watched an episode of 1000 ways to die (I know many deaths are probably not real or at least over exaggerations, but it haunted me til this day), and there was a man who got in a terrible accident. The doctors believed he was dead, and removed his organs (he was an organ donor) while he was alive.
2.) I heard that some doctors don’t put in as much effort to save people who are organ donors compared to those that aren’t. Like there was one who is facing charges for this.
Religion is the only reason not to give your perfectly good organs to someone who is alive. you're going to decompose & your organs are going to rot, you dont need them. That person who is going to die without a new liver or kidney or heart, for whatever reason, needs it more than your already dead self.

I'm diabetic. My blood can't even be donated, never mind anything else.
My brother was killed in a road accident as a child. He'd seen a program on TV about a boy his age who'd died because he couldn't get a replacement liver. He had said he wanted to be a donor after the program but he was too young to carry a card. He died without stabilising after the accident so his organs couldn't be used.
So 1) Not everyone CAN be a donor.
Some religions are particular about the body being as unspoiled as possible. If dismemberment has happened in some beliefs then as much as possible has to be retrieved. My surgeon told me that in some African cultures they have to preserve the amputated limb so when they die it can be buried with them.
So 2) cultural sensitivity
Finally, some people just don't like the idea of their body parts or those of their loved ones walking around. And where do we draw the line now there have been a couple of successful limb transplants?
A rich guy might need a heart transplant and you are a match and he might be willing to donate a million dollars to the hospital if they would just pull the plug on you even though you had a good chance to survive.
Every once in a while, you'll hear about doctors deciding to give up on patients easier or making convenient mistakes on donor patients in critical condition so they can harvest organs for recipients who stand a much better chance of living. I don't know how common it is, but it definitely happens.
There's no logical reason to not donate your organs upon death. However, I just like the idea of having all of my body together even after I die. Even cremation is fine (and what I want to do) because the ashes are all of my body burnt together. There's just something about it that puts me more at peace.
Near death experience. Basically organs need to be chopped off as soon as someone dies whereas in some cases a person might show all signs of death but still come back in a bit of time. A registered organ donor doesn't have that chance as he will be killed regardless once the carving starts.
Don't know how they do it over there, but if you are an organ donor overhere and you are braindead they start taking your organs wich means you can wake up while they are taking away your organs.
And there been a lot of reports of People denounced braindead that still walk around today fully functioning
I heared somewhere that if doctors see an organ donation card on you and you happen to be in a critical conditionthey are less motivated to save your life for that reas9n
Well, if the ancient Egyptians were right about the afterlife, and some crocodile-headed dude has to weigh your heart in order to let you in, what are you gonna do if you gave yours away?
They will rush to get your organs out, when there is still hope.
They will sell your parts for a lot and your family will have none of it and they will not even contribute to your funeral.
In my case they will not like, them I've done too much for them to like it.
In case you want cryogenic freezing...
Sickly ones. My Dad was NOT able to Send his own Body to Science because he Died of Septicemia. Think of That. xx
Religion
or
you just don't want to, everyone doesn't necessarily wanna have all their insides cut out an shipped all over the world.
Having an std or a prion disease, you want the organs to go to a friend for rituals or consumption etc
To protect you from being offed by a body harvester.
I’m not allowed to donate organs or blood because I have a rare (typically Jewish) inherited blood condition and should my blood be passed to someone, they’d die.
That’s actually kinda kewl. Now I’m curious what it’s called.
If you've been in a very serious car accident.
You've done drugs your whole life.
You're body is full of cancer.
You've been stabbed many times.
You've been burned beyond recognition
Im sorry to hear of your pain
In case science is wrong and you need them in the next life!
I would not like a family member/friend of yours in need of an organ after you die. Yikes.
I would be fine if my family and friends chose not to donate their organs and I needed one. There is no right more sacrosanct than your right to do whatever you please with your own body parts for any reason you please. If you cannot respect that right for other people then your opinion means nothing to me.
I 100% respect that right, as you are correct that it is your property and it is unnerving that it can fall into the wrong hands. I would just personally want to save my little sister or something if she needed an organ and I was 98 and about to die. That's just me.
I respect your right to choose to do that as long as you respect my right not to.
There is no immorality in NOT donating your organs even under circumstances such as that. If I was the little sister, and I knew it was against my 98 year old older brother's beliefs to donate his organs, I would not want him to.
So even giving an extreme example like that does not shame anyone who chooses not to donate their organs. It is a personal choice needing no moral justification or reason and choosing not to donate your organs is no less morally justified than choosing to donate them.
Look, I don't want to shame you, cause it is your right, but I am just offering a different viewpoint. A little sister who is like 6 and barely breathing likely doesn't care in the moment what her brother believes, but more so that she is dying and that she may not see her friends at school tomorrow, but instead that she may spend another night at the hospital in a lot of pain.
Of course, that's hypothetical and unlikely. I hope for everyone's sake that kind of thing wouldn't happen to you. I'm also questioning you on this because you seem like a man of god. But what exactly would a just god think of this?
No one has any moral obligation to donate their organs to someone else. As heart wrenching as it may be, it is not in any way their fault if someone else has an illness. They have no moral obligation to give up parts of their body under any circumstances and in no way should be accused of being morally inferior if they choose not to. Your choice to donate your organs is not morally superior to my choice not to.
Morality is stupid. Only through morality can both sides be simultaneously right and right at the same time.
@VanillaSalt Wait so basically its better to just have no personal opinions and go the way of China? Huh. Great idea! I'd love more of that bat soup disease! :D
Morality is feelings turned opinion. I hate it. We don’t even follow morality most of the time. My favorite word for humanity is hypocrite. We can get pissed because we disagree with A then not 20 minutes later feel different and suddenly A isn’t a bad thing. Tom does A and Jake gets mad. Then Jake does A because his situations different?
Fucking humanity.
@VanillaSalt I don't know if morality is the right term to describe it, though I see what you mean. I don't think morality is the problem, but more so emotion. Emotion is bad in overdose.
Morality is emotion. It’s a set of beliefs that illicit a positive or negative emotion depending on upbringing. I like my logical existence. I plan and I move logically. Morality is weakness because it’s applied unevenly. For instance. I feel for the dog that was hit the other day in the road. I feel nothing for the human who’s corpse I stepped over 2 years ago on my way to a Christmas party...
To be fair the man’s last words were “shoot me shoot me”... god save the stupid.
"Morality is weakness"
I think the "anyone who doesn't agree with me is weak" argument is ignorance.
@VanillaSalt Wait, are you saying morality is the reason somebody would feel for the dog more than a human? Eh, I don't know if that's "morality" exactly, but more so what PETA demands everyone thinks like. And don't get me started on PETA, as I think they should all consider killing themselves if the animals are so much more important than humans, as them being alive just takes up resources that could go to benefit all the goats and swine they whine about so much.
@RingOfFire That I can agree with. Freedom of speech is freedom of speech
Morality tends to tell us life is important but I stopped caring about humans a long time ago. But I still care about animals... morality.
@VanillaSalt If morality = emotion, then you most definitely still have it a bit. You are still emotional about animals. More than likely too, you weren't born with a dislike of humans, but some emotional things happened that caused it. I also know way too many people that always say about how much they hate humans yet secretly they care most of all, its just a edgy phase.
That was the major point of what I said... hypocrisy.
Most of my organs will be trashy af when I die. I am kinda sure about that, for some reason.
The only good reasons are when you simply can't for whatever reason
Religious reasons, not wanting your body to be altered upon death, you don't want anyone living with your body parts
Well uhh scientists probably won’t use them for anything good and well that’s all I can think of I guess my advice donate your body to cannibals not science
Because you want to do something about overpopulation or you are very firm on your eugenic beliefs.
i do donate my organs upon death. cause obviously i won't need them then.
you might be actually not dead but jus stuck in a coma like state where ur awake but can't move
Some will say for religious beliefs and others will say for medical issues, other than these there is no problem...
That you might not be dead but critical and they need an organ so they don’t save you to give the organ. Priority is big organ money.
Well, it sort of makes a mess of your body, but they try to minimize that, and besides - you won't care.
Because carving parts out of me even though they’re no use to me seems barbaric and uncivilized.
Doctors will not work as hard to save you if they see you are an organ donor.
No one wants my organs specially my heart it has been very sad all it's life and my liver , pancreas, kidneys and other organs I bet they won't last others very long I've been drinking since a teen
I think the only reason is because you don't like the idea is your body being reaped after death (or maybe while dying).
I’ve heard that they said there’s nothing left of you
Because no one deserves to have such fabulous organs.
Because your family should be allowed to sell them to the highest bidder and make some money
You wouldn't want my liver. It's shaped like a bottle.
If there’s a problem with them. Don’t want to pass it down.
I've a big cock. Somebody like elliot page deserves that
@Mark-IV if she had my big cock swinging between her legs
You don't want mine... lol The man they give my organs too might turn him into a homosexual.
We should donate organs Upon death for Life of the another humans
I don't believe there are any reasonable ones. Religion for example xD.
Because you might need them if Jesus decides to resurrect you!
there are no reasons why not too, everybody should be an organ and tissue donar
Mine are all shot or headed that way given I drink, I smoke and have a heart condition
I hate most people and I certainly wouldn't want to help out someone who I disagree with politically
@Gray-Wisp It is what I respond to people in my life who go on and on about SJW shit. Those are the type of people who would try to institute some sort of divisive segregated organ donation system. On one hand I would want a system like that to prevent them from getting my organs but on the other hand, if it wasn't for them I would donate to anyone
Umm. If you aren’t healthy enough too?
They’re not in good or healthy shape.
when they can't be donated.
People who are unhealthy shouldn’t.
I'm unhealthy, unhygienic and bruised.
I'd rather be preserved then revived if I die.
Mine will be so used up they'll be worthless! LOL
Medical profession doesn’t want mine!
Medical issues with your organs.
Maybe cancer or genetic defects
I dont want to be used as spare parts.
Side note, dont get me wrong. They can take my blood though as my blood is one of the rarest, AB+.
You don't want to.
Underdeveloped organs.
because people don't deserve it
I will still need them.
They’re mind fk that
Your organs suck.
