It was November 1976 and i was enlisted in the Navy delayed entry program and had a girlfriend who i still think of at times and knew i could not in good faith continue dating her as i was going to boot camp at great lakes in near Chicago in January and i was over at her place with her family and i needed to let go of her as it would not have been fair to her as i would also being going overseas after boot camp and had to break it off with her and i really liked her a great deal and i felt horrible doing it but it was for the best and felt terrible as she cried real bad when i broke up with her and i remember explaining to her how it was for the best. It is finny i have never seen her again and that was 45 years ago and when i read this question this came popping into my head. One other thing we most likely would have been great together as husband and wife. So i learned to think first before doing something you could spend a lifetime regretting.
