I had a tortie that I ended up adopting, she was very pregnant, the lady that was watching over her was moving, the no kill shelters were full, and she was worried that a regular shelter would put her babies down.
I told her to bring her in, it was on a Sat, and the next Tuesday I was working late and I heard her make an odd noise, she was having her kittens.
She had 6, 5 survived, she had 2 torties, 2 black with white diamonds on their chests, and 1 orange male.
It was kind of a handful with all of those kittens plus my other cats in my store, but eventually all of the kittens were adopted to good homes, and I figured once all of her kittens were gone she would bolt out of the door.
Boy was I ever wrong, she had been such a good mother, and when someone came in she would move away from the door. She wanted no part in ever going back outside.
She lived to be about 18, and her name was Missy, short for Miscellaneous because of her colors, after one of my Grandmother's cats on the farm.
She was such a great cat, 1 of the very few that were ever allowed to come into the house, she would help other cats with their kittens, even helped with a couple of baby squirrels we found.
So my vote is Missy.
