When I was 12 my dad told me that I had all my mother's good qualities. (I'll never forget that.)

I busted my butt at a job for several years but the rewards just weren't there. It was too much stress and I had to leave just to preserve my sanity. Six months after I left, a coworker from there complimented me on how I ran the place and she knew how good of a job I did after I left, because the company rotated 13 people through my position and none of them could handle it or do the job that I did. That was a very nice compliment because it showed that what I did actually mattered.

I was called brave and honorable by a girl in high school after beating up her bullies. That compliment stuck with me because I was hated by most other students and a lot of teachers. Anytime I was involved in a fight, I was blamed for starting it even though I NEVER started any fight in school. If I fought, it was to protect myself or others and I never made the first move. Hearing her have some respect for me was something I'll never forget.
