I think it's a lack of organization in your brain arrangement. Keys are ONLY important when you need them. You fling them away when you don't need them. I have several places to look. One place just isn't practical. For others, their brains function differently and they CAN do this. Nothing about age. Accept that this is how you work and have five places and remember to check them all.
