Are you familiar with/do you use the terminology “high boo squat”?

Let me use it in a sentence. Last night I told Mrloves2learn “I have not heard high boo squat from [insert family friend’s name] about attending [oldest son’s] birthday party.”

I swear I have been using this terminology the entire 20 years we have been together. He looked at me like I had 2 heads and was speaking alien.

I googled it hoping to help my point and came up with high boo squat. Am I nuts? [That was a rhetorical question. 😇]

No, but then if it were me I would've straight up said "I haven't heard fuck all". Even if a child was present.
But then I swear like a fucking sailor and my dad swore in front of me when I was a kid so, I see nothing wrong with it.

Shield them from swear words. What are you gonna fuckin' shield them from breathing in air after that too?

If someone asks me not to swear around their kids, then I'll make a conscious effort. But even then occasionally shit slips out. I had a father who swore constantly and I don't really think it affected me negatively. I really just can't see the big deal about it I mean, what's the fear for their future? "Oh God, they'll swear a lot as adults? Dear Christ, the world will end because of them".
Frankly I think I'm still a pretty functional and well-adjusted adult considering. Fuck I'm a Pastor for Christ sake.
Which is actually something. I can't say I don't swear in the House of God, again shit just slips out, but I DO make a conscious effort not to swear in God's House when I am in there. I typically ask forgiveness when I do. God has eyes always in his own House. Earth is a different story.

I think our sex ed started in grade 4 from what I remember so I would've been about 8 or 9.
Definitely needs to be younger than that. Honestly, around 6 or 7 they should be getting educated on sexuality.

The one thing I disagree with is our schools handed out condoms and contraceptives.
My version of sex education would be violently abstinent.

Here's the reality: If they have a crush on a girl at school or have noticed girls already... then odds are they've probably already seen that graphic penthouse-type of stuff.
I remember finding my dad's playboys when I was a boy. Wasn't very old back then, internet was not yet mainstream in 2004, at least not in rural Northern Ontario (fuck I'm old) and I guess he thought he hid them better.

This is a new one on me. Slang is often very regional. I have picked up slang from people I have met at different places around the country. If I thought they sounded cool I would use it. This one alas does not make the cut.

I've never heard that term before. I've heard the terms "pop a squat" and "kimchee squat" (the flat-footed pee squat) but have never heard "high (or hi) boo squat" before.

Could be that you're crazy like me, and you come up with your own phrases that stick. I've always done it, I practically have my own language. Or, maybe you picked it up from someone else nuts like that, or someone of a much older generation and the term has fallen into obscurity.

What I would do is try to figure out what else that phrase sounds like, could be a misheard phrase that you've been saying incorrectly. Oddly enough, it makes me think of a motorcycle called a Hayabusa, and you do sort of squat when you ride that type of bike. lol

I'm not from the Midwest and I've never heard that term. My family (from the northeast) does use the simple "squat", as in "I haven't heard squat from <person>" or "I don't know squat about that."

"Squat" is a colloquial synonym for "nothing"
