I’m starting to wonder if “high boo squat” is some crazy Mandela Effect phenomenon that only I experienced 🤣

Are you familiar with/do you use the terminology “high boo squat”?

“False memories can sometimes be shared by multiple people…

In 2010, this shared false memory phenomenon was dubbed "the Mandela effect" by self-described "paranormal consultant" Fiona Broome, in reference to her false memory of the death of South African anti-Apartheid leader Nelson Mandela in prison in the 1980s (he actually died in 2013, after having served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999), which she claimed was shared by "perhaps thousands" of other people.” - wikipedia

1. Berenstain Bears vs Berenstein Bears (I owned every one of these books as a child and I happen to know it was always Berenstain (as in Stan and Jan Berenstain), but it was frequently mispronounced by those around me).

2. Sinbad starring in the non-existent movie Shazaam. (A former Blockbuster employee swears this movie existed and he watched it many times).

3. The classic “thinker” statue (this one got me).

Last Thanksgiving I put the mashed potatoes away in a plastic ziplock bag. The next day, at lunch, me and my mom questioned how the hell they got into a container… we both recalled the bag but alas it was not so… 🤷🏻‍♂️ it was a specific event as I grabbed the wrong size bag, a monster size bag and the potatoes were only a small amount. We both lamented on the waste of the bag… but shrugged it off. Somehow that bag disappeared… these things definitely do happen…

After realizing the bag had escaped reality, we quickly noticed a couple other discrepancies, but I can’t remember the specifics right now…

Yes, eh many times.
Like vividly remembering visiting places that don't exist.
Hearing songs in video games that were never there.
Remembering objects looking differently.

I've forgotten most of them, but one of my most recent ones was Larry King's death. I vividly remember reading articles about Larry King's death a few years ago, and I thought the whole time that he was no longer with us. I even remember CNN doing a tribute to him. And I literally heard NOTHING about him for a few years, but then in January I saw articles saying that he died AGAIN.

Nobody thinks you’re crazy for the whole “high boo squat” thing… Well, maybe one or two, but they are over there in the dark and dusty corner scratching lines into the walls. They are weird themselves. 🤪

Yes. I’ve had this happen to me. It’s like when you are young and can’t get past a misspelling of a word, you only ever remember it spelled the wrong way. “Necessity” was a biggie for me to get past. Maybe it has something to do with the way our brains store memories?

Yeah but they're always just not remembering things correctly. One that comes to mind is the song we are the champions by Queen a lot of people think at the end of the song he sings "of the world" but this isn't on the track. It actually just happened at a live performance somewhere and they probably saw that.

I remember a movie from my youth that I watched several times. I can remember a scene where a guy jumps off a freight train and walks away singing this song I have not heard since. I watched this movie on You Tube and there is no such scene. How can I re, meber this song if it never existed in the movie that I saw back in the 70s.

I'm sure I have. First one I think of is "Big Ben". People who visit London England are convinced they've seen "Big Ben" but there's no way they can. "Big Ben" is the name of the bell inside the Clock Tower (more recently named Elizabeth Tower) next to the Houses of Parliament.
