Are people on this site shallow?

The majority of questions here seems to revolve around looks, dating/relationships or generic questions such as "is X gender this", unlike other Q&A forums that seem to have a variety of topics. I have to do a lot of scrolling in my livesfeed to actually find an interesting question.

Also, I've never learnt anything new on this forum or got any helpful advice, as most answers seem to be in the form of three word sentences, lacking any depth

A lot of them are because this website caters to that. The questions that get featured are usually brain dead, generic stuff you might see on a woman's magazine cover.
The questions in the sexuality section are pretty soulless and nasty most of the time, or just people who've been hurt trying to say the most offensive things trying to hurt others, or then there's the creepy stuff.
Everything here is surface level and follow the bandwagon type behaviour. If the first person to comment is an asshole, then all of the minions will follow suit. If the first person to comment is actually nice and says something insightful, all the rest will copy it and butcher it, burying the original comment.

There are all different age groups on GaG so there is a variety. I have been on here and don't get the same impression as you. Why don't you be creative and ask some questions about that aren't "shallow" and add some spice of your own.
Personally I have blocked some of the topics like How do I look? And the sexuality topic, and a couple of others.
