Why are people obsessed with having a kind image?

I observed that the people around me are so obsessed with being kind when in truth is that they are not. They aggresively point out others mistakes and wrongdoings while they ignore their own just for them to appear nice. I just sometimes wonder "Do they not realize that they are the villains that they themselves always point out?" "Why do they ignore their own mistakes and always point out mine? Are they that ignorant?". Can't they just admit that they did wrong? That they are bad?

Because everyone wants to be seen as "a good person" because a bad person means they ain't gonna get a job, a girl, or a place to stay. So when you start acting out, they shocked and like "Heather, why would you act like this?". Well Heather was just lyin' for the sake of looking good. But deep down, heather got shit to deal with and she ain't no good person.

Yes and it's just frustrating sometimes that I can't know their true self

They want the approval of others I think or too fit in. I never trust women that act too nice I feel like those women are probably completely different inside their house

Yes but I admit that what I'm doing is wrong which they can't do, 'admit their wrongdoings'.

I just think that what's so bad in admiting that you're wrong? Why are they trying so hard to cover up their mistakes even if it means hurting someone else? Isn't it better to admit that you're wrong WHEN your wrong than persistently admit that you're right when in fact you're wrong.
