Give an updated version of Plato’s Allegory of the Cave?

In the updated version, people are entranced not by shadows on the wall, but images on the screen of their smartphones. One of them manages to finally pull him/herself away from the device, and begins to explore the real world where the sun shines, rain falls and flowers grow.
This person goes back to where virtually everyone else is trapped in their own little world, and tries to get them to actually think about what they're doing, how they're just wasting their lives away, but isn't successful.
In the end he/she just gives up, leaves them in their cave, and later on during the day seals the entrance with dynamite, trapping them inside. He/she reasons that the real world doesn't need people like that in it, people who can't even transcend their programming.
