I have a small business but whenever I go to the post office to ship an order the post office cashier tells me it’s $10-$13 and I charge customers $5 shipping. My customers gets mad when I say shipping is $10 & I worry they think I’m scamming them but it’s simply what the post office charges it’s not money for me. I put my foot down and told custoemrs shipping is now $10 & one customer that also has a business says she ships for $5 and uses usps flat rate boxes? But the post office told me they don’t have that only $10 boxes I can buy? Can anyone help me?
You have to put up your product prices and you should be able to make something on shipping it's just good business and shipping costs have doubled recently with the fuel costs. I use a nation wide courier and have a contract with decent pricing so I just charge the customer what they would pay the courier for the same shipment but without an account or contract which is much higher then what I pay.
