Trending & News It's hard for some to comprehend, but I weigh guilt and responsibility culpability proportionately, and don't believe in all-or- nothing in cases like these.
To determine her level of guilt, we have to analyze the situation according to factors I would use to determine her level of responsibility.
- Alone - Yes - At night - Yes
- Unarmed - Yes
-Drunk - No
- Provocative behavior - No
- Skimpy clothing - No
- Blatantly dishonoring her mother - impossible to determine, but not relevant to other factors
-Boisterous - Unknown, but not necessarily
-Flirting with dangerous men knowingly - No
The overwhelming number of categories say she's not a shameful slag, but could work on her self-defense strategy better.
At no point though are the abductors' mens rea culpability affected. They're not equally drunk, impaired judgment, being condemned as rapists due to a drunken fool woman's regrets.
They are deliberate, calculated agents. The fact she was sober, and not intentionally opening herself up to danger, means they had to apply additional force to abduct her. Making it an aggravated kidnapping.
So even if you assign blame to her by the most cutthroat of judicial standards to flimsily argue that she's stupid, this in no tangible negates even one drop of guilt on the part of her abductors.
Fate has already punished her enough. But in no way do I believe that they deserve a lighter sentence, solely because she was alone and unarmed. They still preyed on the defenseless, and should get the maximum penalty.
Oh my God no it doesn't it's come to the point that we can't even do anything by ourselves anymore because some crazy mother f***** is going to do something to somebody that's wrong whether she was jogging whether she went to the grocery store whether she went to a movie whether she was going to get gas for her car she had nothing to do with it she was being herself doing what she needed to do to make herself feel better about herself or to carry on in life to clear her mind
NOW after saying all the above you have to stop and think to yourself that was going crazy person that did that or maybe it was a plan maybe she was gone too long I don't know I didn't read the backstory about it but who knows anymore everybody's going nuts we need to put a stop to all this crap it's really changing the way all of us live and who we are all becoming
I mean I'm even starting to think about population control more and more people are having kids and they're not raising them right they're becoming mentally Disturbed with all the things happening in the world that are scaring kids to become something that they shouldn't become and we need to put a stop to it we need to meet parents responsible we need to do something sorry I went off the deep end here about your question but everything is tied together
Both are in my opinion. Crime can happen at any time of the day. Murder, theft, rape can happen at any time of the day. It's their decision to commit that crime, it's their responsibility.
But it helps when you know your surroundings, knowing what people can do. For instance, near my home an innocent man got beat up to death by a gang at night. With that information, I am not tempted to go and risk being out late. People in group with wrong intentions hype eachother up, it's late so there is probably alcohol involved, they have probably been drinking, possibly making them more aggressive. I have also experienced creeps. A man who says nothing but would follow you. SCARY. Without having a guy to tell him off because it's late, he would probably still have followed me.
With that information, I don't to stay out that late. I would probably think "what did you expect?" if I stayed out that late and some psycho attacked me. Know your surroundings, and respect it.
How did she put herself in that situation?
No. It's not her fault that some sick freak decided to kidnap her.
0430 is a normal time to go running, jogging, and exercising so the heat doesn't get you. & As someone else said crime can happen at any time of day. People who try to blame her are complete dumbasses.
@Dinklexe you can call me a dumbass all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that her children will never have or see their mommy again.
Especially since she had two children at home she should have thought about them and not just about herself - cause now she's dead!! No more important jogging for her anymore!

They used a lot of "abducted" word, made it sound like she was abducted by aliens 🤣
Now to return to the topic, she does bare some responsibility to her kidnapping because why would she go alone jogging very early in the morning, maybe at this time it's still dark...
I don't support the idea of women going alone at night or to go out in rural places where there are no people!
On the other hand, i believe that a girl is a human and it's her right to be out and safe and this right is for men and women but the reality ia different!
Also i was speaking in general, maybe this woman have problems with some one or who knows what are the real reasons that caused her to be kidnapped...
I just hope that they don't find her dead later!
The person who have kidnapped her if he have a grain of faith wouldn't kill her, i don't know if he will rape her or hurt her or what!
If the kidnapper has just a little faith, he will keep her alive and let her go cause any person who has a grain of faith won't be able to kill!
For sure when they arrest him, he will receive his punishment but still won't be a severe punishment like homocide and relatives and friends of this woman will be happy that their beloved one is still alive and can be reunited together again...
Nothing is compared to death! At least she will still be breating and alive between them!
I mean all of this whining and bitching and moaning about how victims shouldn't be blamed, we understand that, but ffs, your job as a potential victim is to try to survive, if a crew is robbing a bank and they tell you not to fucking move or they'll shoot you in the head, these dudes are fuckin criminal assholes who should be in jail, but at the same time if you do decide to move and get shot while the rest of the people didn't move and went back home, then that's on you, who the fuck goes outside at 4 am especially routinely especially a woman...
So don't put yourself in that position in the first place
Exactly. She didn't refused her common sense, now she's probably dead because in this country kidnapped victims usually end up raped and dead and thrown in the woods somewhere.
We can argue no one shouldn't do this or that to a person and respect people's personal property and life but the reality wicked people on the prowl don't care about such concepts and laws and will violate you if the opportunity presents itself.
*she refused
Exactly, it ain't her fault that kidnappers and people that are willing to do atrocious things to someone exist, but it's her responsibility 100% to adapt to it, and now I read the update and as you said she probably was raped killed and just thrown somewhere, that's a fuckin shame man
We are all responsible for ourselves. There are bad people out there. Her attacker perceived her as weak. She could have been attacked in her own home just the same.
My sister was always warned about walking home from work but never listened. She went missing and was found dead In a dumpster 4 days later. She made it home but was followed, was assaulted and raped in her apartment. They never caught the killers but there were two sets of dna left on my sister. The only consolation I take from it is that the DNA of those animals is on file so maybe one day they will slip up and be got or better yet they get traced by the DNA of a relative who enters the system.
@Anon: Horrible what happened to your sister. What year was this?
Yes, people need to be sensible when it comes to their own safety, and should avoid taking risks that aren't necessary, but when it comes to blame the only person who is to blame for the perpetration of a crime is the criminal, and no one else.
But does she still bear partial responsibility for setting herself up to be a victim?
@WhiteBoyChill No. No one deliberately "sets themselves up" to be a victim, because no one in their right mind wants to be the victim of a crime. People like you need to stop making excuses for the bad behaviour of criminals.
The world isn’t the way it should be though, and some people still haven’t realized that
I don't think she was keeping up with how bad crime has gotten in the last two years, and especially here lately
She must have thought she was invincible because to be dressed in a bikini top and shorts at 4:30 in the morning - she was asking for it! It was still dark outside. She was alone and white. No security dog, nothing.
She put herself in peril.
Yeah that’s definitely not safe especially in Memphis, I think they kidnapped , raped her and killed her , probably dumped her somewhere and that’s why the guy was caught cleaning out his van. It’s really sad we have people like that in this world that will do things like that
It’s not her fault but it was not safe to do so because of the risks
Exactly but now she is probably gone for good because of this and evil people in the world
And you are one of them
@SunnyHeythere definitely not, why do keep badgering me? I don’t block people but you’re definitely going to be if you keep it up , I know plenty that have blocked you on your old username but I won’t mention it here
And I would reveal your real thoughts on sex with minors. Which are gross.
@SunnyHeythere I don’t have any bad thoughts on that, it’s you trying to put words in my mouth and twist it around, I already said I don’t agree with that.
@SunnyHeythere Bruh stop acting like a bitch
@Sandeeppingping I am a bitch?
That guy thinks we should help pedophiles if they are women instead of punishing them because there are less of them than male pedophiles who he thinks are rapists without doing anything.
If condemning that makes me a bitch then let it be.
@Sandeeppingping you should think first before talking
@SunnyHeythere I never said that, stop trying to make me look bad on a question
@SunnyHeythere 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂I can't stop laughing because now I'm weirded out about answering you on another thread, no you're not a bitch honey, you were just acting like one, I understand if that's what he said, but I have a feeling he said and meant something and you interpreted differently
@Sandeeppingping that's once again your assumption as before.
Remember assumptions are sign of ignorance (:
@SunnyHeythere I'm starting to think that I make bad assumptions about you all the time, maybe, just maybe I should change that a bit
There are many cities in east Asia where women can be out at night without significant risk. We can’t imagine it now, but there was a time when the US was similarly safe. We are governed by incompetent elites who prioritize their luxury above the wellbeing of the people. Clear them out!
Predators come out at night because the darkness favors them to do their crimes. Its never safe no matter what country.
Evil never sleeps.
The question itself condones criminal behaviour. While I agree that individuals should do whatever they can to keep themselves safe, people shouldn't have to worry about their safety on their own neighbourhoods.
Of course we can go deeper than that, but that would be delving into politics so I think I will stop here.
Each of us has some responsibility for our own safety. Whoever kidnapped her is guilty of a crime but one must question whether jogging alone in the dark is a good thing to do... it does create a situation where bad things are more likely to happen.
Sad story, with a very sad ending.
She is partially responsible for being stupid. Even for a man to do that would be a bad decision.
If someone puts their hand in a fire and gets burned, do they blame the fire, or blame the stupid person?
Some but it wouldn't make any sense to punish her. She really could have waited until sunrise to do that and would have avoided all that bullshit.
Her bad decision brought punishment on her. At this woman'a age she should have solid common sense.
Kidnappings don’t just happen in the middle of the night and this doesn’t sound like it was random. It sounds like he had been tracking her and just knew her routine. I have worked out that early in the morning and there are quite a few people out between 4-6 am. It also isn’t the first time this guy has kidnapped someone so maybe the judge who gave him a slap on the wrist should be responsible too.
I'd like to say "No." because I go out running alone around 5:00am most mornings. She is definitely the victim of a crime, but it does sound like she did put herself in an easily foreseen and potentially unsafe situation. I mean, if I drive through gang territory and am attacked it is not my fault per se, but I should have known better than to put myself in that situation.
I disagree, the responsibility is 100% of the kidnapper
Of the crime? Sure. It's also her 100% responsibility putting herself in the wrong position.
Yes, evil can strike at any moment but you significant decrease your chances of being a victim if you know how to move like a snake in high grass instead of a stupid rat in the open waiting to be someone's next meal.
I will. It is what Jesus taught me.
Matthew 10:16
Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.
If it wasn't her, there, then, it would be someone else, some other time and place. The kidnapper is the problem here. That's all.
She won't be making that mistake ever again because she paid for it with her life.
And the next idiot that makes her same decision will paid for it with their life as well found in the bushes by search dogs.
You really think if nobody jogged in the early morning that kidnappings would just stop? Kidnappers wouldn't kidnap if people just waited until 6am to go outside? Please. It didn't matter where she was. That person was gonna hurt somebody, because that person is the problem, and that person is who needs to pay.
Seems like it was a repeat offender. I hope he doesn't get the opportunity to do something like this again.
The victim should never be the one to be blamed
That would be called republicanism, after all
Trump likes to claim he's a victim, because he's a republican
yet, we all know he's a fucking retard
C'mon, you can't actually say this woman is smart and a good decision maker?
Would you go out jogging in a park full of wild animals? If the animals killed you would you think you had made a wise decision?
No. People shouldn't kidnap or murder or rob anyone. The responsibility falls directly onto the person who has harmed her.
People shouldn't rape, steal, lie, kill etc but they do it anyways.
You have to learn how to live in this world with smartness.
Her being an idiot most likely caused her to be murdered and dump in the middle of nowhere.
Stop bloody victim blaming you sick person.
He ain't sick, he's just stating the facts!
A person cannot throw himself in the middle of the ocean than blame the sharks for eating him!
No. The world should be safe enough that she can do that if she wants to.
@WhitneySnow yes, the world "Should be" safe enough but it isn't! I am 68 years old and when I was four years old my mother warned me of kidnapper's and warned me about them and what they could do to me. That was back in 1959 and the world was not safe back then either just as it isn't safe now. Open up your eyes girl!!
that's why we need much crueler laws against criminals
Yeah I mean, in life we should always be prepared for the bad things that might happen to us.
Even if we don’t expect them
No way she should be responsible. It was some criminal that grabbed her who is responsible.
Don’t blame the victim. 100% the criminals fault.
Hell No... Even if she was out there jogging naked as a jay bird it gives no one the right to kidnap her...
That is ridiculous. You can't blame the victim for doing something everyone should be able to do.
No. Why should women have to live in fear? That's not the way it should be.
The world isn't "the way it should be," it's the way it IS. And while you shouldn't have to live every moment of your lives in fear, there are SOME situations where the risk is dramatically higher than other situations, and this is one of them.
No one is suggesting that the alleged criminal (s) aren't to blame - assuming they exist (because no one knows for sure - it's all speculation at this point, but it's likely) - but you also can't live your life with complete indifference to risk profiles.
Jogging during the day wouldn't GUARANTEE that she wouldn't be attacked, but there would be far more people around to be witnesses, and far fewer people who were drunk or high and out looking to commit crimes (most crime outside the home occurs during dark hours). Any police officer will tell you that things get much more dangerous at night.
If you are jogging, and especially if you are listening to music as most people do, your situational awareness is greatly reduced, and doing that during the middle of the night is going to further increase your chance of being targeted for crime. Criminals have street-smarts, and know they can sneak up on someone with earbuds going much easier than someone who doesn't.
We don't live in a perfect world - and we keep electing politicians that we know have no intention of improving things (defund the police? That should KILL a politician's career!) - so people need to behave as if the world is NOT safe - because it isn't.
uuuuh no. our streets should be safe at any time of day
How could it possibly be her fault?
Because she's stupid. Not even I as a man would go walking outside at that time of night or darkness alone unless I absolutely have to because it's putting myself in unnecessary harms way.
A woman can easily be subdued with one punch or slap from the average man.
@Hispanic-Cool-Guy well said! Even if she had done it many times before but i won't be always the same everytime!
Now i hope that they find her alive or that her kidnapper free her!
@anonymous you can't believe how much people have blind trust in me especially women but i always remind them that people are different and shouldn't think that this is the norm with every guy...
We always have to be aware from predators and maniacs who shares the world with us
No, she was just out running
No she does not.
The criminal is responsible.
Of course not. Same as a drunk chick at 2am.
Lucky… 🥺💕
Luck cause she got kidnapped 🤔
This ain't no romeo and juliet story i think, she wasn't kidnapped by someone who's going to marry her 😂😂
@TonyMetal___86 I see you work in law; sorry to offend you and I do hope she’s okay now. 😔👌
It's okay miss rosie, no worries!
I hope that she's fine too and to return to her family alive as soon as possible...
No, not her fault.
No she doesn't.
